My self and two other quads went to stockton on sat 22nd for a ride , as we haven't been in a while we were suprised by the changes that have taken place, with the poles and cable along the enterence road and also up onto the beach.

They have changed the the acess in that at the T intersection, quads and buggys go straight and 4WD left. as off yesterday new signs went up saturday.

As we had already driven onto the beach at 7 these signs weren't up but as we sat down to cook lunch a couple off rangers turned up and we had a bit off a chat , they explained the new bounders ( from the ATV acess road to water edge and south to rifle range , beach front to tree line )
They also said all camping activitys were to take place from waters edge to 200m inland as they don't want the bush damaged anymore ( this is for everyone ,ATVers and 4WDers ) big dune area off limits to all ( privite land ) .

New maps just being printed and are going to be handed out over the xmas brake .

The rangers were positive in the way they discussed the use off stockton and expressed there concerns about rubbish being left and said that this was one off the thing they were going to target ( $400 fine)

If we all do the right thing and play ball , keep the attiude in check and i don't see us having any problems as a group but be aware there will be a high number off rangers there over the next few months.

I think it's like any other profession where they have power. You'll always get the ones that are great to talk to and have time to stay and explain what is going on, and then there will always be the ones that have a power trip and think that they are above everyone else. But the way i see it if you have permits and rego and stick to the boundaries set there wont be any dramas.
