I should add with some good reason too.
If we were allowed quads on the road...
The first second it rained, Who wouldn't get out there on the black stuff and go completely spastic.
I would. _________________ Can-Am X Team

Yeah, I have. Two of us got restricted one event permits for the 24hr reliability trial held in the Barossa valley every year. We both finished good enough then I get a letter in the mail from transport SA saying " we don't know how you got a permit but we will make sure it never happens again." Go figure? _________________ When I'm racing I'm living..... everything else is just waiting. |

The auto quads do technically have diffs, an enclosed housing...
Quads are legal in most european countries or in the EC, due to high petrol cost and emissions output.
here's one they prepared earlier in Sth Africa, I cant under stand the lingo, but you get the jist

That's a german forum. Still can't speak much other than swear words so no help from me translating.
I've ridden a fully road registered 660 Raptor in germany a few years ago and was lots of fun seeing it just had finished raining. You see a bunch of quads over there but the majority are 200cc to 300cc auto puss buckets. They even had a super moto event in the middle of downtown Stuttgart a few years back that the entrants just rode home after the racing. |

Yogie, an enclosed housing a diff does not make.
A diff is short for differential, in effect meaning that the rear wheels can turn at differing speeds to each other.
Some AG style quads do have diffs (Older Kawasaki KLF300's I think is one example) but on the whole most of them have a straight right angle drives in those housings. IE no differentail action. _________________ State governments give us REC rego + area to ride ATVs legaly! State Status: VIC-No (Nazi's) QLD-Yes(no place to ride tho) NT-? NSW-Yes, Stockton.
