the 06 changed to electric start, with a higher comp piston, different head and cylinder design, slightly different sub frame design, bigger air filter, longer swing arm, better gear box ratio's, stronger steering knuckles (and slightly different geometry) _________________

not nessiscarily, oh the 06 has a different carb too (41mm FCR)
the 05 makes better power (smoother) when you work it but the 06 has the better carb (more response)
I would choose an 06 over an 05 just because of the changes that were made for the better but Blaster Babe would still prefer the 05 to the 06 after she had both of them together. _________________

I ride the 04/05 and prefer it to the 06.
Some US riders are putting 05 stub axles on later models to improve handling.
earlier motors pull smoother at low revs too.
I wouldn't say either is better, but they are a bit different.
It will depend a bit on how you ride or what sort of racing your into. _________________ Can-Am X Team
