 |
|
Guys, chasing a little advise from the more experienced. I have recently got myself a yfz450 and would like to have a go at racing just for fun (do they have veterans in quads??).
Do you think I am better off hacking around the bush for a while or joining a club straight up. Which do you think would have the faster learning curve so to speak.
I have raced other motorsports before (I raced Sprintcars and Modifieds at the speedway for years) and love the racing scene but I'm still a relative beginner to quads and dont want to go out and just get in the way???
Thoughts ?? |

As you are from WA... I guess you know we have limited legal riding areas... the Pines and Lancelin...
There are 3 city clubs that have Quad members. But mostly AJS and Coastal for Racing... more info available on this website.
http://www.waquadmx.com/new_racers.html
There is also the ATV Social and Racing Club Inc which has a track up at Woodridge, their website is www.atvwa.com
Woodridge is a great place to get used to your bike and see if you want to race or do the social thing... _________________ www.waquadmx.com |

Join a club and get a recreational M.A. license mate,,, give it a crack,,, you'll be addicted...
either Coastals or AJS memberships will be half price now mid season
and a rec license is $85
rec license you can go to the track pretty well any anytime as long as theres a level 1 official there
.
if your keen PM me and you could be cutting practice laps at coastals this weekend
I'll be there this weekend testing some stuff and practicing _________________ 007257 where are you???.... bring back the Bling |

| I have been racing quads for about 10 years and my best advice is to spend money on plenty of fuel and get out there! Try and wear your quad out. Ride as often as you can. Join a club and if you want to modify your machine, the best money spent would have to be good tyres which is ok because you should have worn yours out from all the riding you have been doing. Get a steering damper. This will give you much more control on rough tracks. Above all, get out and have some fun. Ride as many different places as possible, this will help you deal with different and changing conditions. Good luck. |
