hey there,
my dad just got a 03 kfx400 the other day and finally got to ride today and there seems to be a problem with it,the problem is when your going along and go give it a bit from mid to top end power it dyes down in acceleration like its hitting the rev limiter and got no fuel up top,its running a 146main on 3rd clip with a dmc pipe and a filter.
would anyone know what could be causing this problem??

thanks

you need to fit a atc250r motor in it jamie. That will do the job.lol
If your problem is mid to topend its probably a main jet problem or some rubbish in the carb.Find out what size the standard main should be and start jetting from there.Clean the carb and put a fuel filter on the bike.

Our mate was chasing a similar problem for about a year, changing every electrical part over time and found out it was the reverse sensor/switch playing up and not letting it rev out Rolls eyes , giving it the feeling it had a misfire. this was on a ltz400 but same quad.

Might not be the problem, but check all these things, including jetting before you go spending bucks on cdis and other big dollar items.

Then if that doesnt work the atc250r motor will go pretty hard laughing
