 |
|
Hello every one ,I would just like some input on somthing im looking into doing on my 700 raptor.
I have had lone star+2+1 A arms fitted to it and the matching lone star rear axle fitted.the ground clearance for my bike at the moment is 235mm under the engine part of the frame and i am having a good think about lowering it to 200mm to 180mm(old school 8inch to 7 inch).just to make the center of gravity that bit lower and make the bike that bit more stable.would this be a good idea or will it cause more dramers the benifits??I do a lot of sand dune riding/bush and motor cross track riding. What do you think??
(sorry about the spelling was not my thing at school ) _________________ Sponsors ,Cullys Yamaha,Pirtek Malaga

| personally, i found a-arms, axle and YFZ shock made all the difference in handling, much sharper turns and more predictible, and alot more stable, i lowered the rear just a touch and it was perfect for me... i wouldnt go over board when lowering it, even 10mm will make a massive difference. |

Thanks Ozzy84 for your info... i have just lowered my bike 15mm at the back and i have the yzf shocks on the front so now it sits the bike as it was siting std but a bit lower . fu ny bt just 15mm makes it look heaps lower and wider. carnt wait to ride it to see how it feels. _________________ Sponsors ,Cullys Yamaha,Pirtek Malaga

Howdy,
I put houser +2 a arms and elkas alll around on mine along with 8 inch rims on the back with 18x10x8 which lowered it down to just over 6 inches with me sitting on it. Way to low for MX. Kept bottoming out on the up ramps of jumps. Jacked it up to to 8 inches roughly and using the guide to ride height in an ATV Action issue and works really nice now.
By the way I am 100kg. (Retired jockey)
Regards from the Madman. _________________ KTM 505SX Sponsored by DALBY MOTO |

That depends if you are jumping it, I have my 700 at standard height and find it great for clearance etc, I would rather a bit of height than the damage that can be caused by having them too low, and I also keep up pretty well with other quads on most tracks that have had lowering done. _________________ Andrew |
