Hi folks, does any one know the performance diiferance between standard aftermarket reeds and v force reeds. Are the v force reeds that much better for the money.

If you don't mind your motor sucking in a reed every now and then, their fine.

I have the Vforce3 reeds in my banshee, they are the best bang for buck next to a pipe

Best reeds with cage—Vforce3’s

Best reeds without cage-Carbon tech reeds

I have had the Vforce's in my banshee since new and never had a problem with them

If you have a look at them apart, some of the reeds are held in place with little tabs of the reed material and not all the way across. Over time, this becomes brittle and the reed can snap off and get sucked into the cylinder. I have seen this happen on three occassions and on another one the reeds became porous.
Standard reeds cages ported properly with decent reeds work just as well with reliability.

yeah v forces are good for power but i have been hearing alot lately about how unreliable they are

i am going to look into something else for my RZ motor when it goes back together

do ktms have any problems with their reeds? i believe they are OEM equipment on their 2 stroke bikes and have been for a few years now?

John sorry but the v force reeds must have something goin for them since ktm and also alot of pros here and in the usa use them and if pros are using them mustnt be all bad and alot buy them

example your i-shocks i havent seen on one quad yet being raced or rode but elkas and peps i see everywhere why ? as pros and known riders in the states and here use them so people buy as they know they must be good and work

as for 3 bad experiences hell everything including the higher price brands have some faults or issues cant have performace or modified parts without loosing some reliability thats the price of horsepower is it not?

luke btw if ya think this is not a valid point this time look at johns stupid post on thumbpump 2 movie

my turn , i have run a number of diff reeds ,my choice v force 2

i had a 404 std barrel look motor & the motor had high bang ,and the motor did suck the vforce reeds in often $70 ago ,but it went better.

but i did have 35 carbs swinging off it with pods.

anyway have fun witch ever you buy any thing better than std.
