I HOPE IT'S NOT ANYONE FROM THIS FORUM BUT IF IT IS PLEASE SLOW DOWN IN AND AROUND THE CAR PARK AT LAVIS LANE.
30 TO 40 Klms AND HOUR I.E: FIRST OR SECOND GEAR ONLY UNTIL YOU GET TO THE DUNES.
UNFORTUNATELY WE ALL GET THE BLAME FOR THE STUPIDITY OF A FEW.
SLOW DOWN BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT, OR FEAR I SAY IT, EVEN KILLED. |

I thought 40khr was max speed limit on the beach? 30 to 40khr is still way to fast for that car park and the bendy blind tracks leading down around there, People just have no courtesy or respect for each other anymore and thats why were close to getting extinct from the beach, countless times mates and me slowed down when heading past people stopped either in the car park or on the beach only to have others go screaming by like its nothing, I even slow "right" down on dusty days in that car park just so i dont dust bowl people, ya only loose a few seconds total riding time and ya might gain some respect from doing it, instead of what a wanka !!!....

Your probably totally right with the speed bit about 15 to 20 kmh in the car park and at least up over the hill so that if someone (i.e: a kid who doesn't know any better) walks in front of you you can easily stop with out incident.
Its not just us atv riders, its also the 4 X 4 owners themselves, as I was heading back up out of the car park yesterday some idiots in 4 X 4's went screaming past.

That is what the beach is for if they are going to do that they maze well do that at home on the road. Just as dangrous.
I saw some idiot on sunday doing the same thing with his (i would say no older than 9 year old daughter) on the back both with no helmets and i tell you what they were not going slow by any means.  What kind of bikes were they on ?

Well said guys.If everyone took this attitude we would not have such a bad image.I spoke to the rangers on clean up day and tried to make the point that we are not all selfish idiots.

I was up there for a ride day and was doing a lot of work on my bike ,half way down the lane and I swear a fella on a banshee rode past me 50 times in an hour ...
TURNS OUT HE LOVED THE DIRT AND DOING LITTLE SLIDES ON THE BLIND CORNERS WELL DONE FOR NOT HITTING ANYONE (I dont no how). |
