Welcome to the forum Bubbles. Post up some photos of your ride if you can it would be interesting to see your mods. It sounds like you've got your mates covered.
I am now waiting for Yogies comments about how you are different from most raptor riders, who he believes usually have no movements or feeling from their shoulders up. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

Good on you mate. You got my support mate.

Welcome to the forum.
Where abouts are you located, there are many ATV clubs around Australia and I am sure they are all keen for new members? _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

Welcome Bubbles, I am intrigued.
I am an above knee amputee. I am realy interested to know how you stay on.
My nephew met a parra at the Fink that stitched velcro to his pants & the seat to hold himself to the quad. That scares me a bit. Wouldn't want to roll & be stuck to the quad. When you are 120kg, like me, you have to do a fair bit of weight shifting as well.
I have trouble with jumping if I get too high off the seat. I have limited control over where I reconect with the quad.
How do you get on?
I'm obviously not the only one interested in your style either.
happy travels _________________ 06 LTZ400

| thanks for all the insterst i will try to answer all your questions if i dont let me know starting with getting on the quad i place my wheelchair between the footplate and the front wheel put one leg up on the seat thats a big strech and grab one hand on the handlebar and one on the back gaurd and use all my musle and pull myself on i am 110kg and have no trouble now staying on that is the dangrous part no fear i use a tie down that ties my quad to the trailer has no give in it and i get it from one footplate over my legs to the other footplate it sits just above my knees which holds my feet on they dont move i have a gripper seat cover which u can buy from any motorbike shop with your sticker kits or on there own and the biggest thing is a bit of mucle to through your bum side to side it took me a few times to learn to ride with no legs but it took a while to ride as fast as i do now i have said if i walked tommorow i would still ride a quad i try not to jump to much as i cant stand to correct it but i have jumped a few times love it but dont do it to often i have had 2 high speed crashes both hurt but i thought with the tie down i would stay with the bike but didnt but there is a risk that i will but if i worried about that i wouldent ride at all . i never wanted it street legal but wrote to vicroads for an exemption to get rec reg but wouldent give it to me i would have to fight it in court so didnt take it any further for the road i am having a suzuki tlr1000 built in to a trike should be fun |
