You need torque to drag weight around without a thousand gear changes.
Are you near 110 kgs? I see your banshee isnt standard. WHY? _________________ Cheers-Redted. 04 Raptor |

No not near 110kgs more like 150!!
Mine arent stock coz I like speed not slow. More power= more speed!!
Whats the big deal with changing gears and giving it a few revs?? (that is what the manufacturer intended the rider to do)
You need revs not torque to get speed- how fast do these torquey quads go flat out? (find me a low revving anything that will do 100kph +)
Are you average weight guys too lazy to ride changing gears??
Bet your car is an auto too!!!
Have you ever owned a Banshee to say from fact you cant pull a heavy load????
I do agree and know what your point is but when you are talking small capacity engines (under 800cc) the difference is two tenths of f@#k all. _________________ RAPTOR 660:

Bla,bla,bla....horses for courses. I just think a big 4stroke would be MORE suitable for heavy loads. Ive never owned a banshee, but have ridden a few. At just over 70kg, my power to weight ratio is always good. I dont own a car, only a ute for bikes & dog-etc --diesel 5spd. Mid wk toy is 18 spd 400+hp so dont start me on gear changing. _________________ Cheers-Redted. 04 Raptor |

I'm sure thats why Yamaha persisted with an almost unchanged bike for so many years??? _________________ RAPTOR 660:

If its Bla, bla, bla why did you post in the first place????
I see your point about gear changes.
The guy wanted to know what was the go of either 700Raptor or YFZ450, someone suggested a Banshee.
He didnt ask for anyone to hang sh!t on what other people ride as it is all a matter of personal preference.
So with a choice of those 2 quads I would go for a 700 for trails(reverse etc...) and a 450 for speed.
I have the 660 Raptor and a Banshee and cant get the rest of the family off the BANSHEE as it's so easy for anyone to ride.
I bet if you all DIDNT have electric start 4STROKES you all would ride other quads (2STROKES) that aren't so hard to start. At 70kgs you would barely be able to kick over a 700cc single far less start one!!!
So lets all be realistic about our riding coz if your battery or starter sh!ts it in the bush you've got a problem...... I'll just kick start my no power, slow no torque, fuel thirsty Banshee and ride back to the car to get you a rope!!!! _________________ RAPTOR 660:

today i rode the 450 and 700 in the bush and i would say that the 700 was the best choice for me(ricky needs reverse) because the it felt alot more solid and (for me) was alot easier for me to handle (the 450 just felt waaaaaaay to small) _________________ You don't know how fast you were going? lol Tell Adam Siemensma the yfz is to small lol he is alot taller then you and seems to get around a mx track fast enough lol
the reverse a good option for trails if ya into trails but the height factor wouldnt mean much to me after seeing somone like adam and even LB ride a 450 as they arent short ppl _________________ black covered in 5.7 powered oversize quad

But those 450's are far from stock. Look at how much longer than stock Adam's steering stem is, along with everything else that is done to those quads. _________________ Mic

yes true mic but also keep in mind ppl put longer stems on but tags bars are lower then stock bars so only makes height marginally diff as i have found by putting flexx bars on to ltr with bar clamps has made it about 1 inch to 1.2 inches higher then the stock model as wife still has stockers on hers till she finds the tags she wants
also adam has lower pegs but thats about all that would change the issue for a tall rider as diff swingers and a arms is gunna make no diff to ya height on a quad i dont think _________________ black covered in 5.7 powered oversize quad
