This is a trailer I picked up for $600, was to make do until i got something else but it does the job fine, fits the 2 full size quads, toolbox at the front, storage for ramps and storage under the quads for eskies and spare etc...
Thinking of getting it blasted and repainted, this trailer is also springless which makes it sit lower and is easier to get bikes on.
The missus dosn't go riding much so there is always the option to take a mates bike on this trailer and reduce the number of vehicles taken.
When there is two quads on it it is still moveable on level going without a vehicle.
Everyones trailer will be different but as long as it suits your own needs that is all that matters. _________________ Andrew |

take it just about anywhere we take the patrol, dad and i built it a few years ago, now we carry a ltz400 in the middle instead of the ozark, its an 8x5 box trailer, we bolt on rails that slot into the corners and then when bolt the tracks up, can hold 3 quads, or 2 quads and a 10 foot dingy on top, or 2 quads and 2 motorbikes, holds all our campin gear for 4 people also, i think it weighs close to 1.5-2 tonne when fully loaded (close to 750kg empty), bit of overkill but it shouldnt break _________________ 04 yfz450

O.k, My trailer is just a regular trailer with a frame on top, this can be taken off if need be, Best thing to do is get the measurement of the biggest quad you are going to be carrying and make this the width of the new trailer otherwise you have to run them one behind the other and this makes for a pretty long trailer.
Hope you find something that suits your needs.. _________________ Andrew |

normal one will be good (brand new) second hand ones seem to be snapped up really quick
because trailers over here in w.a seem to be in high demand _________________ You don't know how fast you were going? I guess that means I can write anything I want to on the ticket, huh?

| i use a 8x6 aluminium tray off a ute mounted on a boat trailer frame and it works perfect it fits my ltr 450 and a banshee spot on and the sides close up hard against the tires at sides and back so you dont even have to tie the bikes down but i do to be on the safe side. Before the ltr i had a raptor 660 and it fitted perfect with the banshee also. It works great its nice and light so tows great and when your not moving bikes it makes a great box trailer which wont rust when left outside. |

| well basically, a yfz is roughly 6 foot long and 4 feet wide, a 350 raptor is slightly smaller and a fair bit narrower so if you wanted to fit the INTO the trailer you'd need a 8x6 box trailer, cant say ive seen many of them though, my sister and brother in law put there DS650 and the ladies bike (honda 400ex) in a 8x5 box trailer and have the rear wheels of both bike up on the side of the trailer, they have done thousands of kilometers like that with no dramas... i wold recommend this for a cheap versitile way to get em round... |

One of my mates has coppied our trailer, but its a 2 wheel dirve 8 x 5 with 2 sets of tracks made out of lighter material. Under 2mm I reckon.
Our tracks are made from 3mm thick sheet (overkill, but won't fail) 300 wide with a 50mm edge to make the channel. Their turned up 300mm on the front & each is custom length & width spacing for each quad.
The quads have 2 ratchet tiedowns on the front that are shackled to the tracks & hold on to each A-arm. This pulls them in tight to the front.
The backs have either 2 ratchet straps or a fitted chain.
Our camping gear & anything else we carry goes underneath.
This baby goes anywhere with confidence. We have done hundreds of k's of rough tracks & god knows how many k's of low quality dirt roads & never had a quad come loose. _________________ 06 LTZ400

I dont have the resources at the moment to make up something similar to the custom set ups you guys have so it might have to look a bit funny for a while _________________ You don't know how fast you were going? I guess that means I can write anything I want to on the ticket, huh?

Any start would be a good start burnout.
I started out carrying 1 quad on a modified boat trtailer.
Problem was though it was a pain in the a#se to go fishing.
One good thing about having a box trailer for a base is that when quading either dies out or you have to upgrade because your 6 grandkids ride as well, it is easy to dispose of.
All my mods are bolt on for that reason. _________________ 06 LTZ400

Hey burnoutnut.
I got a WA papas trailer 7x5 got racks & ramps made of 25mm angle & steel mesh bolted crossways on top, overlapped and braced off drawbar.
Carry Blaster & Raptor this way.
Don't seem to need to take off for reg duties tip runs & moving stuff + all camping stuff fits underneath. Whatever you get measure quads & add 50-100mm width for the future - I didn't .
Will send pics

This is my 6x8, cost $950 and does the job well. As Hulk said though ramps are desperatly needed.

Hey Quadracer, you got a bargain there mate.
That would hold them in very nicely.
Try buying a 16ft aluminium plank & cutting it in 2. Then tec screw 2 inch lightweight angle to the ends to steady it when yoy ride up or down. It will slide in under your quads for travel. _________________ 06 LTZ400

just a couple of things to keep in mind
without brakes max GVM650kg
with mechanical brakes 1999kg
round 39mm axles are generally rated at 750kg
square 40mm and 45mm are heavier than you can go bigger but these are the most popular sizes
I will post a couple more of our trailers just to have a look at
holds 4 x 2 wheelers or 1 quad with ease _________________ Family is most important.... next is our quads |
