lock in the below dates!

Qld quad riders association is proud to announce that the Roma Motorcycle club is to hold the qld champs on November 3 and 4th at the Roma Mx club. This will be a 2 day event with a full range of classes with new classes including a utility (farm quad) class, state of origin, and the classic ironman !
The track is a traditional wide open layout with obstacles aplenty. Tabletops, single jumps and a challenging course to suit all levels.
More details to come.
QQRA

***Roma is approx 5-6 hours west of brisbane, and they tell me it is the same distance to roma from melbourne as it is to brisbane. this is due to the direct inland road.****

Don't forget to mention modern camping facilities or there is more motels than you can poke a stick at Cool .Also home to Australia's largest cattle saleyards, the local pubs pride themselves on selling the best steak so if you need to refuel the tank I'd recommend the "Club". Wink

For those people who have never been to Roma, you need not worry about a lack of facilities. Roma has its own woolworth's, a KFC and a McDonalds and not to mention AUSSIE'S PIZZA'S who are also helping sponsor the champs.
As postie mentioned there are more motels than you can poke a stick at. Camping facilities are at the track itself with showers toilets and town water available on site. Postie obviously has not had a feed in town lately and the Comm Hotel would be the pick for a good feed.
One of our club members is trying to organise a projector to hopefully show some of Saturday's action during the night while the bar is open.

whats the farm quad thing?
is this event quad only?
can we get powered sties?
Do you need any out side help from club members?
Is sponsorship still required for classes?
Will there be bar facilities at the track?
will this be a one or two day event?

Hey Huge,
Yes there is a Utility ( farm quad) section. This section will still have the bikes meet GCR'S for competition eg. kill switch. More info on this as I get more info.

There will be room for two support classes as to which classes they will be the club has not decided yet. May only run one class yet.

What sort of things would you need power for? Power at track including hot showers but not powered sites.

Any help would be greatly appreciated for the usual stuff (flaggies etc) and sponsorship is always welcome.

Regards from the madman

There will be bar facilities open and this will be a two day event.

Hey HUGE,
If you want power for that aircon I suggest you get there early to grab one of the limited power points available. Wink

Hi Everyone,
For those who intend on staying at one of the local motels, three motels are offering special rates for those who mention they are part of the QLD quad champs.
The Roma Motel is offering a 10% Discount on their rooms on mention of the quad champs. Ph on (07) 4622 2288.
The Roma Explorers Inn is offering rooms at corporate rates with a standard room starting at $119 up to an apartment which has three queen beds and a single, a lounge and kitchen for the larger groups for $290 a night. This is one of the newest motels in Roma with plenty of room for trailers. Ph on (07) 4620 1400.
The Bungil Creek Motel Is also offering room upgrades on mention of the quad champs (subject to availability). Rooms start at $119 for a single and range up to the family room for $180. BC's bar and grill is also on site. Ph on (07) 4624 2200.

All three motels are amongst the closest to the MX track and if you book with any of these do not forget to mention the quad champs.

Regards from the Madman.

Hi all,
There will be two practice days on the 6th of October and the 28th of October at the Roma MX track for those who would like a look at the track before the QLD's. There will also be a Club Race day on the 14th of October as well. All are welcome.

Regards from the Madman

Hi Luke,
On our practice days out here everyone is divided into groups and are given 15 minute sessions to cut loose. It depends on how many people turn up as to how many groups there are. Last practice day the quads were on the track for 15 minutes and had a half hour break before going back out. Had 5 sessions on the track for the afternoon. One other practice day quads were out once every hour and got 4 rounds in but I got there a little late to get the 5th in.
The practice day on the 28th of October is a full day practice and more than likely will get more than 5 sessions in. The 6th of October is a Saturday afternoon venture and if I get plenty of quads interestd in coming I could organise it to start earlier to make it more worthwhile for those travelling to come to the Practice day.
Hope this is clear as mud mate!

Regards from the Madman.

would love to get down for a practice day, not to sure yet, supposed to be coming down with a mate but he won't return my emails or phone calls. Maybe I offended him with the "slowpoke on the speedway" comment. Rolls eyes Rolls eyes

Very Happy I don't think that'd worry him , I see you finished 2nd in the flat track the other weekend done well. It'd be a good chance to grade yourself this weekend , I figure anyone who places ahead of me automatically get's graded expert Razz

Hi Postie,
I do believe that Jade will be there but I haven't heard from Vaughn. Can't get a hold of him on the phone.

It has been confirmed that Barry Ashenhurst from ATV Action will be here in Roma to cover the quad champs.

Regards from the Madman.
