yep just so it looks better, i like em when there cut but havnt done mine

i have heard of people cutting them with stanly knifes Confused than sanding em to perfection

you might get like 1-2km/h from wind resistance...LOL

and with the sand and dirt it doesnt bother you but mud wil deff be all over you. just wear goggles

laughing

Yeah ... most peeps cut them for looks ... but I agree ... usually looks better with the plastics un-cut!!

Except the YFZ 450's ... I like them cut in a way to look like little wings ... Cut Mikeys' Cobra like that ... Wink

Cut off front guards = less drag/wind resistance = increased acceleration, higher top speed (anything upto extra 7kmph depending on quad) & less likely to wheelie when ya don't want to eg drag racing.
Cheepest speed mod out - can use hacksaw.
Flicking dirt and sand in ya own face is better than the guy in front doing it to you.
Use file to sharpen teeth on footpegs - next best free mod.

Same reason a lot of sand riding only raptor riders shave their fenders. Some people also prefer the clean lines of the fenders removed/shaved.
