 |
|
The wife is being suspiciously nice at the moment and has agreed to let me spend more money on the raptor. As I already have full skids, nerfs, and new graphics etc, I am looking at maybe splashing out on the big 3 mods. Other than those guys who race, do you guys who have these mods and ride predominately trail/enduro think that you get value out of the extra HP they provide versus the cost outlay. For me, the raptor straight out of the box is still a trouser browning ride, but as more and more of the guys I ride with are modding their bikes, I'd hate to be the guy always bringing up the rear. (insert greek joke here ) I have looked at modding the performance the cheap way (PCIII, lid off, baffle out) but I may as well do it properly if I do it at all. Your opinions please. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

I was like you and was happy with the standard power of the 700 and couldn’t see any point in spending the money
But sh!t I was wrong ------ the over all acceleration gain was awesome and it made it much more responsive out of corners
In my opinion the top 3 mods on a raptor 700 is well worth the coin _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

The big three-Intake, Exhaust, and fuel controller.
Wife is already in Broome for 10 day holiday with our daughter in tow, and I have paid to have her son fly up from interstate to meet her also. She usually doesn't need a bargaining tool to get what she wants as I appreciate that she has had to put up with me for the past 20 years.(plus she would just do whatever she wants anyway ) I am only suspicious as, like most of the wives or girl friends, she usually cannot see the point in modifying something that is either brand new or not broken. It's a bloke thing.[/quote] _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

A guy that rides with us has taken out the spark arrester of his raptor SE, it now is that loud that no-body wants to be near him, and it is not a nice loud either.
I was happy with standard but have chosen to mod mine with full system and mod air box lid, now for the fuel management to finish it off, even with the main 2 mods it has made a huge white knuckle difference.
Whilst the missus is agreeing jump at the chance, you might not get another one for a long time. _________________ Andrew |

Im a trail hack and I can tell you there is NO comparison ... stock is a slug , u wont go much faster but u will get there MUCH quicker , torque is what makes the bike easier to ride and the 3 mods give u that in bucket loads.
I have always done the three basic mods on all my quads and wont have it any other way. Stock bikes dont do the power any justice.
U wont regret it .......... _________________ It's time too ride !!!!!!! |

A friend here has the 07 700 GYTR from the states. Did duel DMC, same controller & K&N. The thing is just all out balls from low end right through. Well worth the investment! _________________ If it's not upside down, you're not trying hard enough!

Yeah, i'll back that up. I rode a rappy 700 std, then with duel DMC, K & N filter and fuel controller and this thing was fast. It was definatly worth every cent and thats as far as i would go with on of those. Sh*T loads of grunt and STOCK motor, reliable cant go wrong. |

If you are going to move out here, you will have to learn that helping others out like this is un-Australian. You gotta kick 'em while they're down _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |
