How about you man up and go and approch him with a slab of course!!! Tell him you not going to stop riding. But you will get quite tips fo your mufflers and try and avoid riding when the wind is blowing his way.
If he wont budge grab him by the neck sqeeze the life out of him and take your slab back home with you.

I agree with Sean. Perhaps a party afterwards and a nude ride-by outside his house would be in order.  We are buying small acreage next year and I would hate to think that my neighbour had a say in what I did on it.
Have you had any other trouble from him besides this instance?

I think Smitty started on the right track.
Win him at all reasonable cost.
From a Council perspective they would be hard pressed to stop you unless it was a commercial activity (you make one dollar or more).
Otherwise the usual noise restrictions will apply.
They will hammer you on noise and dust. And for that part sounds like you have it covered.
Get the neighbour positive and invite him over for a BBQ ride day where he can sit back drink a beer and watch.
Introduce some sensible friends (if you have any).
Try and find something in it for him.
It might pay to see if one of your councils compliance officers has a motoring interest also.
repeat the above recipe for him also.
9.9 times out of 10 a war will result in a loss for both sides.
So start schmoozing.
(other than the above Murder might work )

i had ( and have from time to time) similar issues with my neighbours. i responded to one neighbour by driving the hilux over his trees in his front yard.. diff locks engaged of course, and the other neighbour i ignore, truth is i believe you are within your rights to ride between 8am and 8pm with out it being a noise issue. the dust is the only thing they may have over you, good luck .... better still get a hilux for a day and then wait for the cops to turn up, always a pleasent conversation with the law

You could use both ideas. Invite him over for a BBQ then offer to drop him home and 'accidentally' run over his front garden while turning around to pull out of his driveway because reverse is gone in your 4WD.

Funniest shi t ive seen in ages.
From what ive seen/heard it pays to keep your neighbours on side, in all fairness (although a little gutless) your neighboor didnt start taking pot shots at you or attempt to sabotage your track etc.. a pretty polite letter was all so it seems he doesnt want you to stop completely but just wants a comprimise...
Im sure if you were to rip him to shreads with a few choice words and perhaps inflict some facial massaging to help him decide to shut his trap things will just be a MASSIVE headache from then on...
I agree, a SIX pack, or a case if he lets you drink half and a chat might just sort it all out... |
