It's got to be better than a rigid axle Do you have any more pics Has it been trialed on a MX track yet If it works it should be more advantage than more power by getting more power to the ground ,smotther ride /incresed stamina and better handling in theory. |

very interesting, it's hard to see from that pic how the lower subframe stays rigid when there is no support up too the frame from where the swingarm would have pivoted. _________________

for MX i don't think you'd quite get the same travel as conventional swing arm
which may be an issue on the big landings
+ it must be 10 to 15Kg's heavier
be interesting cornering hard around rough stuff
.
guy over here raced an outlaw with the same set-up on a pretty rough track at a state round
looked pretty smooth,, and that polaris was gettin pushed big time _________________ 007257 where are you???.... bring back the Bling |

| It looks to me like they are somehow gusseted to the rear of the engine in the centre for vertical rigiditity. This may not be strong enough for big air yet, it's hard to tell from this angle, although those shocks should have plenty of travel at that angle, and the rest of the design looks strong enough to be suitable for MX conditions to me. |

Hey Smitty ,
I think IRS is a definate way of the future and that looks a treat.
I am not sure if it is light enough yet and I feel you would need sway bars to give you decent cornerin..like in a race car,off road buggy, rally car...

I bolts on just the same as the swingarm and uses a solid strut where the rear shock goes. They claim its lighter than the stock Suzuki steel swingarm and axel but i don't see how. And they say it's been working well in mx but I'm not so sure. Those budget Fox rear shocks couldn't work to well with no ajustment. I just thought it was interesting but needs more development _________________ Smitty |

i can only see too thing wrong with it
1: it has no SPRINGS!!!
2: its going to need a sway bar or it will role like a tiny on the high see.
the new polaris outlaw is running IRS i found sone pic of the rear end just to compair a properly enginered set up. _________________ bike 1 justin 0

Needs good shocks on it for sure. I reckon with a good suspension setup that an IRS quad should handle pretty well on an MX track and certainly very well on an enduro track. with the rear end set up properly you shouln't need a sway bar. (and I reckon that a sway bar will only restrict the travel any way). _________________

After comparing the two photos I rekon the aftermarket one is better than the Polaris one when you look at the shock angles and center of gravity. It just need to be better finished off _________________ Smitty |

| Does anyone know if the irs can be adapted to other models or is it solely designed for the LTR. |

Depends if it works ,
Normally to beef up the rear end would cost around that if not more with
$800 wide axle 1600$ steel rear swingarm [although should be unnecaessary on new suzuki] then another coupla grand for mono shock. i guess what i'm trying to say is if this set up does prove to be better and that $3000+ is race ready personally i'd go for IRS. |

i think a sway bar wold make a big diff with those shocks, BUT if you put a set good coil overs on it you woulnt need the sway bar at all. _________________ bike 1 justin 0 |

not when you consider how much it costs to put a front end on most quads.
LT arms $1600
LT Shocks $2195 and you,re already up to $3795, if this system is complete with a choice of good shocks then it would represent reasonable value for the conversion that is being made. _________________
