Hello the steerer (part that goes from the handlebars straight down) think that is what you call it. It appears to be bent bought new handlebars and one side is higher than the other on closer inspection the steerer is bent.
Is it best to get the genuine part or do you buy aftermarket? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

its called a steering stem. it all depends if u want to go cheap or u dnt mind spending money because normally genuine is cheaper
