Banshee vs 350 raptor vs yfz 450

I'm going to be buying my first bike early next month Cool

I can't decide what I want. I know I want a yamaha and those are the bikes I would consider buying. My old man owns a 350 banshee stock except for a wide front end.

Im leaning towards the banshee at the moment because its comfortable to ride, they look tough and because if I break it my old man could fix it haha. Also the only 2 ATVs I have rode are banshees and a kawasaki V-force(WOW there fast) from what I have read and from what my friends have told me I should buy a yfz 450.

I want a bike which is durable, comfortable and not to exspensive. I'm hoping not to spend more then $10 000. I'm not looking for the fastest thing out there either. Just something I could have fun on Very Happy after all it is my first bike. I want to keep up with my friends though who all have 2 wheel bikes for example the rmz 450 . I'm hoping not to spend to much on the bike after I buy it. I might buy some pipes but thats it.

I would mostly be riding on dunes or just in the aussy outback. I live in Moranbah, Queensland so yeah. I want to hear your guys opinions so it can help my make my final decision eek

tl;dr version
buying a bike, want help

id go banshee, 350 raptor is a nugget, and yfz's are weak as piss, at least with a banshee parts are cheap and rebuilds cost bugger all compared to four strokes.

Banshee will be the quicker bike on the dunes with a few little ad ons.

my two cents worth. I bought a banshee as my first bike and haven't looked back. Set of pipes boost bottle and reeds will have you grinning from ear to ear and for a long time too.

banshees are cheap, you can get a second handy for 5k easily, or get one with pipes, shocks, a-arms, rear shock linkage setup etc etc for 8-9k

I wanted to get a new one so I know what exactly has been done to it and know it hasnt been trashed 2 bad. I'm willing to spend up to $10 000 so that should be enough for a new one?

How much is that going to cost me though? I think I do want to put a couple of after market parts on.

hey ferret

in 06 i bought a new banshee and $1000 worth of gear, boots, helmet, pants ect . for the quad and gear cost me $8000. i also got a set of fmf fattys off u.s ebay for $600 shipped to my door.

i then sold the banshee and bought a yfz450. for me the difference was huge,it just seems to do everything better. i thought i would miss the banshee but now i dont care if i never ride one again.

good luck with your decision.

budget about $1500 for those couple of mods. Depends on what exhaust system you get. dmc, fmf, Toomeys price differs.

i agree. a stock banshee wont touch a stoke yfz. plus the 4 strock power. cant go wrong with a yfz.

lol i know he is using it on dunes but the 450 is weakest piss is funny thing i seen yet thats why i see so many shee's smoking the 450s at the mx track and elsewhere haha lol bang for buck a banshee but if ya gunna look at mx or other riding later on go a yfz as the banshee a heap of "profanity removed" to jump period

Wow the polls 50-50 and so is my decision lol. I didn't think it would be so hard. I probably would be jumping the bike but not allot and not on any big jumps. Does anyone know the price difference between a new shee and a 450? That might be the decider for me

yeah, agree, if your looking at racing then the yfz is a far better choice.

but on the dunes, personally id stay away from the for strokes, if you ride em hard they just dont last as long...

if you want it to handle maybe the banshee isnt so good.

at least one things for sure, no ones gone for the 350 raptor

Hey, i,m a dealer but I'm not here to sell you something!, Weve just had some new 07 banshees for low 7's, YFZ retails for 13 but seen a few deals for11-11 1/2. what about an LTZ400? [ retails under 10G ] may not be the latest racer but stacks up well against banshee. tough reliable, and you could do alot of mods for the price you'd pay for a new set of pipes on a banshee. There is also lots of used goodies kicking around the market place.

Ok I made up my mind, I'm going to be a proud banshee owner Smile Now I want a list of essential aftermarket parts. Which are good brands and a ball park of prices

What I have so far:

*Pipes - FMF COMPLETE FATTY EXHAUST PIPE, COMES WITH POWER CORE 2 SILENCERS AND FATTY PIPES $419.99 US from ebay. Now is this the complete exhaust system? link

*boost bottle - Moose $30 US from ebay link

*reeds - Delta V-Force 3 Reed Cages $195 US from ebay link

What else would I need? Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

If you have to buy a Yamaha, then a YFZ for sure ,give it 5-10 more years and they wont even offer 2 strokes anymore, plus you dont have to mix fuel...The YFZ out handles and performs way better than a shee JMHO

low 7s that is good. 11 is to much for me so I'm after a banshee. I do not want anything but a yamaha sorry haha. My mates told me to get a ltr 450 but there 11 also. I'll get 10 from the bank. buy a bike and a trailor and some gear and parts. It sounds like a good plan to me haha

exhaust on banshee make a big big difference, there is plenty of cheap mods that can de done also. No doubt banshee give the best bang for your buck, also great fun, they just dont get the power to the ground as well though.

Would cost about $300 to ship a banshee from NSW or VIC and you got your pipes.
Luke at Moranbah purchased his YFZ in Newcastle and shipped to Moranbah for cheaper than purchase at Bullet Bikes.
