after the car park, on top of the hill there is a little track to the right hand side ??

i think i went in there and got bogged in my vitara when the main entry was flooded lol.

but if thats the place ur talkin about its owned by the sand mining company i have been informed. i dont think they would care.

i was told by the rta that you can not use a uvp as they are not for atvs at stocko only for taking a vehicle that is un rego to the mechanics to get a pink slip and then rego it they went on to say that there is no insurance on a uvp and to add to this if you rego your atv but dont ride in the designated area and unfortunatly have an accident and hurt some one whilst out of the 200m area for atvs i doubt the insurance would pay up it would be like an un lincenced driver smashing your car and there fore doesnt this make the rego preety much useless any way even though i still pay it

-1-I have had 2 UVPs with conditions specifically for Stockton.--2-NO 'rego' is needed to go to a mechanics for rego activity, you need a pink slip(not for atvs etc, just a customer declaration) to get a UVP.--3-$10 of the fee IS for insurance.--4-You are prob. right about being not 'covered' when out of the designated areas but you will not get about $1500 worth of fines which is more likely. Hrm Hrm Rolls eyes Rolling Eyes Rolls eyes

thats right
the problem with the RTA is that hardly any of the people there know how to issue a uvp for a quad
i had a similar problem with two RTA and after arguing with them for an hour and them making phone calls to god knows where they finally figured out that they can issue one
ive had a few uvp on my quad
the last one was the best they didnt put any restrictions on it so i could nave driven it on the road basically
but anyway if you stick to your guns and tell them they are wrong they will eventually figure out how to issue one for you
i dont think theirsystem is set up to do iy for atv as for a car thats the impression i got they had to type in everything manualy
but i can tell you that after all the problems i gave them
the FAIRFIELD RTA and MT DRUITT RTA know how to issue one real quick now
cheers

i went to mittagong RTA and no problems at all just needed ti "forget" the quad had no indicators or horn and i was sweet. $27 from memory( which is now stuffed due to alcohol) buit a tip if you dont tick the stockton beach only box you may get away with road rego for a month, at least it will be a good argument to have with the cops when they get ya doinb 110 kph on the freeway

Same here with the Dubbo RTA.
I get rec. rego for atv on Stockton Beach. I don't/can't get UVP.
I get it for the weekend I'm going (usually long weekends) which costs approx. $30.

Correct.
I reckon we would all have a hard time getting insurance to pay. None of us have the required items such as horn, turn signals, etc.
Never the less, it's still stupid to go out there without getting either rec. or UVP (if your RTA does it) going to Stockton.

We can chat about this till BMW bring out a 1200GS atv, but nothing is going to change. RTA is a bunch of twits!

Your not wrong about that Jon, they dont even Know what there doing within there own branch office, I had the same experience as everyone else, all I want is some thing to keep the rangers off my back in the car park once you get to the bowl see yer later! Lets just hope that we can a while longer out of the uvp before they close that loop hole on us too. Sean

well i dont know if why they wouldnt have closed this loop hole already.
clearly they know about it.

i rang the RTA this afternoon to clarify.

i asked the girl "how do i ride my quad on stockton beach without getting fined ! ?"

the first thing she replied with was "you will need to obtain an unregistered vehicle permit from your local registry and to do that u need to complete the two forms for UVP"

so i says "ok well thats interesting because a couple of my mates say they are having trouble with this and that thier local registry is telling them that they need a conditional registration to ride at stockon"

she replies. "no, you are applying for an UVP for recreational use on stockton beach, thats all you need to get"

i say thanks heaps you have been very helpful.

she says. thats ok.... hey you sound hot. can i get your number by any chance?

so yeh, there u have it lads.
straight from the horses mouth.
its all true !
except for mayb that last bit.... mayb i made that up.
but the rest is true !!

Cheers.
Sean.
