 |
|
If anybody could help me out, I have a Banshee & just bought a Vapor computer for it. The sensor for the Tachometer has two wires that come off it and I need to know where they go to. I know that the black wire goes to ground but unsure of the other one where it connects to.
There is two pages of the Data Setting Mode that I am unsure of also.
They are
Pulses per revolution (PPR) Step 2 - Pulse
Pulses per Revolution (PPR) Step 3 - PPr2
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. |

one would ground it
but the other one sounds like it gets the signal from the spark plug
not sure but sounds confusing

Wrap it around one of the spark plug wires about 10 times.
I've got one on my ATC250R, it goes nuts everytime i rev the bike over 5000rpm. The whole LCD screen lights up and stays that way. Dont suppose anybody knows why that is? _________________

DEFINITLY DONT DO THAT! you will blow the "profanity removed" out of it. it is an inductive trigger that picks up the magnetic field (EMF) off the plug lead when the charge passes through. it is all in the instructions what to do. _________________

pretty sure you hook it to the positive coil terminal thats how mine is done but mine is a 4 stroke.(but it does say that i can use the wrap around method also)
step 1: PPR if if does not seem right what the book says try it at 2 PPR because a banshee is 2cyl it fires both cylinders every time it fires, it fires every 1/2 turn therfore 2PPR
step 2: banshees dont change ppr above certain rpm (leave it at 0000)
step 3:n/a
hope that helps

Have just fitted a Vapor to my Banshee and the black wire goes to Earth and the Red wire I attached to the positive terminal on the ignition coil.
I think the pulse has to be set on 1 , try it and read the tachometer , you will know its right if it reads about 1200 - 1500 rpm at idle.
If it reads double this then try setting it at 2 , but I think from memory that 1 is correct.
Have had mine on for about 3 months now , works great.
