My yfz came with a set of Bills pipes which i can say have some bang, there great exhaust and give the bike good extra hp, prob is the neighbours are arken up- every dog in the area goes bezerk when I fire it up and its goig to get worse for me if I dont do some thing to quieten them down, I would look at replacing them with something a bit quieter but I would not like to sarcrifice to much on performance- Any suggestions would be great. Sean

perhaps re-packing the muffler or change to something like a FMF Q or another brand 'quite core'

because of all the extra laws and stuff in california there are heaps of quite core pipes and slip-ons out there now

I think the yoshimura pipes are fairly qiuet... Until you pull out the quiet core... Then they make you go deaf if you are near a quad with 1. Hrm

no need to import yourself there are heaps of FMF dealers in OZ, theres a shop, 'motorcycle accesories' or MCA in liverpool i know of that carries some FMF stuff

might work out cheaper to buy one off fleabay US and ship it yourself though

Leo Vince make an excellent quiet pipe 96dB and it's still not real offensive if you pull the quiet tip out. RRP $795. call 03 9791 1056

Get an insert baffle made for it.
If you cant get one from Bills, they can be pretty easy to make if you're handy.
Bolt the insert in for riding around home and whip it out when you get away.
Make sure it doesn't rattle an bolts in well or you'll loose it.

I now have a 'Bills' which is pretty loud. Hrm Its still near new with the original packing which seems very tight or dense. Is it any point repacking it with any different packing or packing it looser which may need redoing more often.I have access to a few options(like building a quiet insert as a LAST option) as my brother owns/runs the local CARLINE MUFFLERS. Very Happy Very Happy Cool PS-I do have a scratched oversize Staintune off a crashed road bike(not mine)which i thought about adapting to the Bills headers and then using a selection of baffles that i have. Neutral
