Joel sig is changed, Hope you like Razz

Counting by the holes it left it the track I think we worked it out to be somewhere between 3 and 5. And from what Mark (the guy that was behind him when it happened) said, zuki400 hung onto it while all of the tumbling was happening. 1 with the bike Razz ... Must have hurt. Hrm

no wonder some much broke on the bike then Mic. If I was hanging on to the bike that has to add at least 3 tonne of dead weight during the rolling. On the other hand could have something to do with not wanting to have to spend money repairing the bike, guess that failed pretty badly.

Even the missus was more concerned about the bike than me when I rang here after it happened. Her first question was "how much is damaged on the bike". At least I know she likes quad bikes. AHHHH doesn't the support from your family wake you all warm and fuzzy, on second thoughts I think thats the scotch kicking in ooppssss Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

What I think happened was I was running to low a pressure in the rears. I am still running the original dunlops so the grip levels weren't great thats why I ran lower pressures.
Every time I went through this one corner the back end would slide out cause of dust on the top of the track. This time I came around the corner and the back end slide out alot further than it had before. So I guessing that because the back end was so far around, that when the tyre got bite after clearing the dust it was to much and rolled the tyre exposing the rim. The rim dug into the ground and spat me out.

So yes it was my fault. The pressure was to low in the rear, the tyres did not have the grip levels requires for how fast I was going. And this caused the tyre to moved on the rim. Thats my best guess at what happened cause the only difference I felt with every other time I had gone through the corner before going over was that the back end was further around. Plus I heard people talking about the rim indentations in the ground.

If anyone can see a hole in my thinking I would like to hear it, so this doesn't happen again

I reckon your over thinking it. Id say it went like this.... Coming up to the corner.. Brake... Start to turn.... Start to spin out... Rear end bites... SMASH BANG AAAHHH F*%^(% &(%^(^(*&%&(* BANG. .... Then everyone cam rushing over. Razz I think that is what happens in most crashes. Smile I think you actually got out of it pretty lucky. Going by the holes you left in the rock hard track, if you got hit by the quad while it was tumbling then it could have gotten ugly.

Did you back off when things got out of hand? Hrm I allways remind myself & others,NEVER back off when turning.Ive rolled a few times Hrm Hrm but its always been to the side that started to the inside of the corner, after i spun just over 180 deg and then the now outside wheels grab and over its goes.Usually most of the speed was washed off by then and damage was minimal. Razz If i was lucky i managed to clutch it at the right time and ended rolling backward to a stop with damaged undies Surprised Hrm Wink

I know that I'm probably thinking about it to much but I REALLY don't want it to happen again.

The back end of the bike only started coming out after the corner had finished, when I was powering out of the corner. This is what I do when I approach a corner. Brake before the corner, setup for the entry, reapply the throttle to maintain corner speed, hit apex of corner(hopefully)still holding corner speed, then(depending whats ahead)I power down.

Now it was at this last point that the back end started to go wide. I had applied only a little more throttle than I had every other lap(no more than 100rpm more). The reason for applying more throttle was to try and get the rears to grip and "steer" with the throttle. The bike was not in the process of spinning out, it was not far enough around to be at the point of spinning.

Oh Mic I now how lucky I am to have not been hurt more but damn being lucky still hurts a s@#t loads Razz Razz . Glad I wasn't unlucky on the day

Mildgen I do think I was going to fast, but I think that I was going to fast for how the bike was setup. Its all good, lesson learned, and I plan not to do it again

there nothing wrong with the motor so if Jaden does help and it falls apart I will blame laughing laughing
Thanks for the offer Jaden. I have only gotten to the bike to day and taken all its clothes off. Its not looking to bad really. Only a couple of unexpected things bent but they are small. I think I will take it to someone to get a proper eye run over it.
