I believe the top 6 riders from WA are going to go along and a good deal of NSW and QLD riders in the big lead up to the maybe Australian MX titles 2007 Track ! Worth,Bartley,Roycroft , me plus some more are comming from NSW.
Will the West be able to dominate the East on home turf ?
Can't wait to find out !
Who's comming out to play ? _________________ Cheers

Hey Adam,
Thanx for the link !
Just wondering who determines, influences, descides on the length of a race (National Quad advisory commitee...)? I reckon 5 x 20mins seems a little heavy and 3 laps for Vets seems light(Im not complaining except I have to ride against kids of 35 ! ) ?

the length of races was decided upon by the QRCV
the 20min does probably seem a little steep from the outside, but if you compare it to any other pro level races its below or on par. Its the only way we are going to progress in racing ability.
the pro races at the 06 nationals where nearing 20mins by the time the 15min plus 2 laps were done. The Maffra track is a freeway compared to AJS
for the vets, the length was just carried over from our club series. we dont want to give any old timers a heart attack
we have the pro, expert and clubmen class for riders wanting a longer race |

half a dozen jumbo's maybe bullet, depends on how much damage we do to em at the club round there next month. Be good if the other slack blokes( you know who you are) who have typhoons get thier act together for it though. _________________

Hey Lance ,
Ant's a phreek ! I really dont know how he does it (Must be the swamp water he drinks ) I spoke to him the other day and he has cut his practise motos down to 3x 30mins to every second day !
I'll stick with the Vets class ,that's tough enough for this little black duck! My training is stepper once a week for 12 mins and Ride the quad at stockton once a month
Thanks Adam :I understand M8 we not only need to have rocks in our head to ride a 180KG steel Sumo wrestler ,we also need to be Iron men ,Ill leave the 25 mins to you Iron men ! The track does look pretty smooth Though
Hey Brad : I felt like Superman about 25 years ago ,now I feel like a one legged man in a butt kicking competition . _________________ Cheers

Yeah he's a trojan when it comes to racing, the other day at AJS he did the 4 races with the quads, then did the 12 lapper on a two wheel and came third.
He whinges when Chris doesnt practise, but mark my words when Chris is there, you see the bushes moving and there's Ant out with the stop watch, keepin and eye on him. They are both like chalk an cheese, dont know how they get along together. As for the swamp water, well proof is in the pudding. Wonder if I could Chris to drink some (think not)
12 minutes, is that all, jees I trade it in for something more useful LOL LOL hahaha
No doubt when Lance returns from up North he will add a few comments here for you Len.
Cheers and be good

5 x 20 min +1 moto's seem way more racing than any other pro level riders do in a weekend!!
I think it maybe does raise some questions as quad racing in oz is not quite the level of the other pro racing - please not trying to upset anyone.
Will this discourage riders from competing? I know I would have to quit work to do 5 20 minute moto's in a weekend.
What do others think?? |

It may appear to be long, but majority of the Pro riders already do that now. Over here thier races are 10mins plus 1 lap, but majority of them pre race practise at 30min intervals
Last year in WA th Nationals were 15mins plus 2 laps, thats 15mins for the fastest rider plus an extra two laps equating to approx 19-20mins.
I can uderstand that people will stress over the time factor, but on the day its racing, the adrenlin kicks in and keeps most of the riders going.
It wont deter riders that are the usual die hard ones, but may hinder the newer riders stepping up to the championship class who will find it just that little more harder, its pretty easy here in Aus, wait till you hit the real world (US) where you have to make it through qualifying before you can even get a possible start on a grid line for a competative race, and qualifying can be continuous lining up one race after the other just to get a start.
And as you said "In Your opinion" oz racing is not of the level of other countries or pro riders, if you dont do something about it NOW then it will not eventuate - how do you improve yourself racing if you dont push yourself further.
But then again 20min moto's are pretty boring to watch from a spectators view, drags out a bit too long, that is what they (here in WA ) have found with the two wheel moto's so they have dropped them back to 15mins plus 1 in WA, the same I think would apply to the quads, they too would become tedious if there weren't sufficient riders on the grid to keep the racing at an exciting level for all to watch
Cheers |

I think I said pro classes not pro riders.
Just meaning numbers and support etc.
I think that the riders them selves are pushing hard and making some big gains over the past couple of years.
Should it be up to those who wish to go to the US to go the extra yards? Like you said over there you need to qualify , here anyone can come off the street and enter a pro class quad race.

Pro Quad racing on West Oz is IMO comparible to other Pro Racing
very comparible
.
anyone can enter Pro's over here also
if we're oversubscribed, we will have qualifying
that's how it should work everywhere...
.
.
long moto's is good
sorts the Pros out from the Xspurts
and It doesn't bore me
.
.
and you guys can relax, I'm not entering Pro's _________________ 007257 where are you???.... bring back the Bling |

Why not Dazz, staying power, cmon Dazz give them a run for thier money.
Again it will be up to the riders on the day as to how they race, if they get tired they have the option to slow it down and finish safely.
Spectator viewing should be taken into consideration, if we dont get them back each event then you would have to consider the reasons why.
My opinion is 15mins plus 1 or 2 laps which equates to 20mins, then if they are doing several disciplines which a few do nowadays, its not interferring wth that. As you said anyone can enter the Pro classes, its whether or not they are able to compete safely with other riders |
