 |
|
Howdy folks,
once again the nice people at Moreton Districs Mx Club have allowed us to use the Tivoli track on Sunday July the 22nd for a QUAD ONLY practice day.
Our last couple of quad only days have been very successful and we encourage everyone to attend families are always welcome and we can also run a novice section just for newbies. (we are open to suggestions on how to run these days.)
Riders must be MA licenced or you can buy a day licence on the day.($20)
Cost for the day is $30 for non QQRA members
Members is only $25 (family discounts can be arranged)
QQRA will also be putting on a barbque for lunch so bookings are essential. cost for the barby is $2 each (huge will be cooking!)
9am start till 3:30pm. coal road tivoli.
Please email me or reply on this forum if your attending.
Regards
Jaden

Why not make them quad and junior family memebrs only. Then people like 'Huge' can bring there children.. And i can come with the little brothers. Has to be more dads or mums who ride quads and have kids on bikes. _________________ Mic

Family day sounds awesome
From my point of view allowing QQRA members kids on two wheelers access to the main track during a quad only day would be unreal
I only say this because my two kids are two wheeler riders
In the past few weeks there has been plenty of people talking about how hard it is to fit in any where because we all ride different types of quads and bikes.
Luke Beechey I think was trying to get some kids on quads for a training day and didn’t have enough interest so I think its gone by the waste side
Z z z z z z z z z z z Dream on HUGE Z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z
What if -------- lets all bring our wives / girlfriends / sons / daughters
Lets make it a family event
Some guys wives ride (but only butt around) and I don’t think they would even get out there with A and B class riders (to intimidating)
Other guys have kids on quads that don’t meet currant race spec but would also love to see them out there enjoying the sport
Imagine this (if possible) we set up some sort of time schedule for the day
8am - adult quads
8.30am – LB kids training (additional cost) also with witches hats mark out a 50cc course for the tinys
9.30am – members 2 wheeler kids
10am – adult quads
11am – beginner adult quads
11.30 – all in kids quad
12 lunch – BBQ and bull "profanity removed" spinning
1pm – adult quad
2pm – 2 wheeler kids
2.30pm – adult beginner quads
Or something like that ????????????????????????????????????????????????????/
Is it possible ?dont know
Will people come ?dont know
Would people like adult training as well?
Would it all be a waste of time?
Just my thoughts HUGE
Either way im going and it would be good to see all the other gunners there like the first quad only day -------------------- and just remember if you can get past my big mess of a frame ill be looking to kick you off at the finish line ha ha _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

huge, you are truly wise and obviously follow the ways of the jedi....
anyway, back to the thread. your comments are of course valid and make total sense. i have in the past allowed the kids of quad riders to bring there mx bikes as long as they have a licence or get a day license etc and can ride the track. we normally have 20min sessions.
we normally organise this on the day once we know who is in attendance. so we would normally have adult quads go out for 20 minutes then the kids and rotate as such. if we get enough quad riders who are new to the sport we can also run a novice session. this goes allday and i promise all those who attend you will be stuffed by lunch time.!
By having the barbeque and allowing the kids, i am trying to promote a family atmosphere, but we must follow MA guidlines at all times. If we get 6 kids of quad riders turn up with bikes and they are different ages and have different sized bikes then we have to seperate them. this is where is gets messy. imagine the following sessions - 50cc kids, 85cc kids, 125cc kids and then open quads, novice quads? see my dilema?
by allowing kids to ride we take away from the quad only format.
Luckily the kids who have turned up previously have all been on 50cc/65cc bikes and ran in the same class. no problems.
I would ask that if you plan on bringing your kids, you inform me first, this way i can plan the day better!
I encourage everyone to bring there wives or husbands and we also would like darkchild to bring his boyfried if he chooses. We are a gay friendly club. (not too friendly though!)
What do you think huge? sounds alright? let me know mate if i can tweak it any.

Ok every one
In an attempt to entice more none competitive riders to this quad only practice day I have decided to donate/raffle off the following
First drawn = 1 x massive checker plate tool chest with flush fitting handles and gas
struts ------- L=1400mm D=500mm H=500mm value $250
Second drawn = 1 x 12 foot to 23 foot aluminum extension ladder with a self leveling leg
Value $200
Third drawn = 2 x work shop shelving units with a load ratting of 350kg per shelf
Value $150
All paid riders will automatically receive free entry into the draw on sign in ---- this offer is also available to none riders at the cost of $5 per ticket (all proceeds go towards printing costs of our QQRA club news letter)
So come on guys and girls let get out there and have a go and support the club that supports all quad riders big and small (and huge) _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Hey Joel
It’s good to here that your coming to support other riders and to join the club
And I know your reason for not ridding as explained the last time we met
Thats kool and I understand “but” I would suggest that you chuck the quad in the back of the ute any way --- and if you don’t ride (kool) but you may find that you get that little tingle in your leg and say what the hell
Any way I am glad you’re coming either way because it’s going to be a good day for all involved riding and none riding
So come on guys and girls let’s get behind QQRA and turn up in numbers
If we all continue to support fun days like this and we continue to attract good rider numbers we (the QQRA club) will then start looking at organizing some full on trail riding club days for the whole family
Thanks “huge” _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Well a big thanks goes out to Jaden for what I think everyone would agree was a top day
I would also like to thank gothev8 (greg) for suppling the BBQ tucker (top feed mate)
I am happy to announce that my 4 half laps equalled 2 full laps
It was great to catch up with some new faces and its always a pleasure to meet up with the regulars
My whole family had a top time – kids on the track and wife on the bottle
Looking forward to the next one (see ya there)
Thanks Daniel AKA HUGE _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

The track was so rough I seriously considered taking the Patrol out there instead with the diff locks engaged.
Anyway, it was good to meet some of the other regular forum members. _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo
