****** Texas QLD June 16th and 17th *****
Hi all i have been talking to Les Jensen from Aussie Quad Adventures and he has informed me about their forthcoming trail ride to be held on private property in Texas QLD about 3.5 hours drive from Brisbane.
It will be a mixed event hosting 3 loops: Senior Bikes / Senior Quads and Junior-Novice ------- they will also have a Peewee track available.
The whole weekend will be fully catered by a local charity and will also have "BAR" facilities available to wash away the pain of the days ride.
please note the following
* THIS IS A 2 DAY EVENT (SATURDAY AND SUNDAY)
* QUADS RIDE THEIR OWN LOOP (NO 2 WHEELERS)
* NO FIRES ALLOWED IN CAMP AREA
* NO RECREATIONAL REGO REQUIRED
* NO GLASS ALLOWED ON SITE (PLASTIC AND CANS ARE OK)
* NO PETS ALLOWED
Cost is $66 for adults entered before 4/6/07 or $77 for adults entered after 4/6/07 and juniors are $33 or $44 after 4/6/07 and all riders must present a current MA licence or purchase a MA one event licence to ride this event.
At their last ride at Woodenbong they attracted 500+ riders of all shapes and sizes so you need to book your spot ASAP and for further info please contact Les on 0418723155 or visit www.aussiemotorcycletreks.com.au/AQA/
10% of all money raised will be donated to the Abused Child Trust Charity
If any one is having prolems arranging transport i will be taking my big trailer that sleeps 4 and will fit 3 quads and one 2 wheeler plus gear
i would need to know by the end of this week if any one needs to take this option
Any other QQRA member that will be attending and would like to meet up please let me know as it would be good if we could all camp in the same area and fly the QQRA flag.
i will also be looking to recruit new members and will have club enrolment forms available on both days(remember more trail QQRA members = more social trail rides)
at the end of the day lets all get out there and enjoy our hobby one way or an other
Thanks to John Sherlock -- i have only just been introduced to Aussie Motorcycle Treks and this will be my first aussie treks ride and i dont know what to expect
Has any one attended one b4 and what did you think?
thanks HUGE _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Huge,
I have been on 2 of their rides, 1 at Woodenbong which was great and 1 at Bestbrook which I didn't enjoy. I didn't like the terain on the BB ride (rocky, steep, slow and rough) I prefer faster more open riding, it had nothing to do with their organisation.
I am considering the Texas ride, have they commented on the type of terrain to expect? _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

To be honest the only feedback i received about the terrian from Les was (quote: you quad guys are going to cream your pants) and he then went on to say that Ron(i think?) had just rode it on a rhino and said its got some nice and fast sections
you ride out that way a fair bit --- other than being dry and dusty whats it like out that way (flat or hills) and how long did it take you to drive there?
also do they have a lead and a tail rider and do you only do one loop or do you just keep going around and aroud till pub time

Huge,
Very few hills to speak of, maily flat with some undulating terrain. I mainly ride in the State Forest which has wide fairly well maintained dirt roads and fire breaks, all the riding is easy but fun. There are a lot of abandoned quarries out there which are good for some jumps and mud bogs (if there has been rain.)
It takes me 3.5 hours to get to our property from Brisbane (Mt Gravatt) if you travel at the speed limit (lots of highway police) and dont stop. We are about 1/2 way between Inglewood and Texas. It's not a bad drive and they have fixed a lot of the crappy road heading into Inglewood. _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

i was keen till u said u were looking forward to riding with some new faces , obviously u dont like my face any more . LOL
Not happy that Greg says there are heaps of highway cops about ...that means ill have to drive at the speed limit ...... that will add a few hrs on for me.
As usual i dont have a life so count me in .... could do with some more dust , been a bit short on it lately. _________________ It's time too ride !!!!!!! |

Sorry Prokiwi i didnt know i needed to ask for permission to take a ride.
any way i have never seen your face as its always sitting firmly on your seat
lets try and have at least one serious post in the QLD section
at this stage it looks like we have 2 guaranteed entrys and 2 maybe's
its only early days and the long drive and entry fee may keep some guys away ------- i still have not yet heard from any of the other supposed supportive trail riders (come on guys atleast reply and say your not going)
every one keeps asking for full on rides like this one and now is your chance to show your support
Joel i hope you can swing it one way or an other as i look forward seeing you out there --------- your right it looks like its going to be a top weekend
thanks Huge _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

My wife rides my old 660 Raptor and she loves it. We have only just had our first child so she doesn't get out as much anymore. _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

Boy, 10 months and yes we are happy. He's already been for a putt around the paddock with me
I fully intend on living life through my children so he has no chance _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

My wife also joined this website but didn't get the email. |

hey darren
the one event licence can be paid for at the venue for the cost of $20 each
the two forms i sent you need to be filled out and once you deposit your entry money just staple the deposit slip to them and post to them all to the address on the forms ----------- in the Ma licence section just write (one event) ------------ and in the rego number section just but (not requied as per les)
hope this helps ---------- i dont have a copy here at home so i will have an other look tomorrow

yes the second form is the (indemnity form)
once you sign it tells the organisers that you acknowledge the risk and and take all responsibility for loss or damage to your self or gear/bike
and your also stating that your quad is in a safe working order
hope this helps also

Hey greg
I was under the impression that there was no cut off ------ just a $10 late fee
From $66 to $77
I think you can even sign up on the day --------- not 100% so maybe best to phone and ask Les from aussie quad adventures to confirm
Thanks daniel _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

Hi Luke
The response hasn’t been the best from the forum members but there is a number of thing contributing to this eg: timing / cost / location
At present all I know of is 3 other confirmed riders plus me
Pro kiwi and I are leaving my factory in Darra at around 11 to 12 Friday and we are also taking calberin’s wife’s quad in the trailer and he and his wife will follow later in the arvo
Thanks HUGE _________________ -------------------------------------------------------
