Hi All,
Since I'm new here and new to quad bikes, as I'm think getting one for myself.
I trying to decide which brand of quad bike. I look at some of those Chinese quad bikes like 110cc -150cc.
But till few weeks ago ridden Yamaha Raptor 90cc 2009 with friends

Also enjoy suzuki 50cc, which I know is small, but so much fun riding them with kids. (Won't be getting this thats for sure)

So its between 3 different quad bikes.
The other quad bike is an Polaris Outlaw 90 youth or Outlaw Sportsman 90 Youth.
So its hard choice to make, specially those chinese quads prices are attractive like $700-$1800 etc.
But Yamaha and Polaris are $2500+ though.

I hope some of you's able help me out giving me any info will be welcome.

Regards Juzzy

I know of two people who have bought cheap Chinese quads and both have wasted their money!

One bike didn't last a weekend!

Wise old Indian saying..................

Good thing no cheap.........Cheap thing no good

i'm in 30's Dazz.

Jesus, seems like so many people had problems with all those chinese quad bikes though.
If they break down after couple rides, well some people tell the fair trading. I wonder why they have 30 days warranty only on the quad bike.

Thanks giving me advice, which was very helpful.
I think going to stick with well known brand.

Feralkid, Is your boss suzuki is an Auto 90cc, does it have any photos of it or have an website to look at though???

DDingo: Yeah, hows it going with your new Raptor 90cc with your girls riding it.
I ride it too, it handle's well and great to cruise on in open space. Easy to operate & start too.

If you plan on actually getting into the sport i'd say you'll get bored of the 90's pretty fast even if you only go a bit bigger to a raptor 250 or blaster or something it'll last longer before you get sick of it, if you intend on riding more regularly.

Ok Feralkid, thats alright.

Hey Jono, I'm going to enjoy ride it around. I won't be going into sport at this stage, but I'm will be intresting watching quad bike racing though.

I put a question on Yahoo's anwer section, as few people advice me to not get any chinese quads, as they dont last long at all. Been told don't be fool by cheap price tag.
Plus an 30days warranty is not enough for quad bike though.

I wonder why there is so many places are selling these quad bikes still.

check out www.qrcv.com.au if you interested in watching a bit of racing, there is a calender on the site with all the dates of racing around victoria.
The reason so many places are still selling Chinese quads is because people don't research the first and figure even if they need to fix it lots its still good value for money which is not the case what so ever. I rode a junior chinese quad around a paddock for a bit one day, it was brand new and we shredded the spline on the kickstart, cracked a hub and broke the heelguards without even jumping it off the ground within about an hour of it being ran hahaha.

i just wanna say in defence of china quads.....not all china quads are alike
we have 3 yamotos .... and they have not had any real probs in 5 years of owning them well one did this year but it was user error ......

the yamotos have been every where and never let us down

they are a great first bike to learn to ride and cheap too the loncin motors seem to be not to bad in the quads like atomik ....

having said that .... if i knew what i know now and could afford it i would have bought 3 yamaha's but thats somthing you can only learn from owing a china quad
raptor 350 is a good quad to start on if you can afford it ... amd a 250-300 china if you cant ....

a 450 500 or 700 is pretty dangerous for a L PLate rider they dont take much throttle to have them up on the 2 wheels on somthing steep and flipping over the top of you

alot of the guys here on the forum race and will allways say MORE CC IS BETTER ... i have to agree with them but more cc is better when you know how to handle more .....

dont let em put you off a china if you cant afford a 2nd hand yammy .....

Im with you dazz. China jobs arent always necessarily a bad buy. Heaps of them now come with dealers that can supply spare parts and service the product. My advice would be to make sure you buy a brand that does. And you should get some form of warranty with it as well. If your just gonna putt around a paddock or something like that, can you justify spending 2 to 5 k more just to have a jap brand???

Chinese stuff IMO are an ideal way for a cheap introduction to our sport. It's a bit hard to justify the big bucks for a second hand jap quad if you don't realy know if your gunna get right into it or not. But if you go chinese do not buy a second hand one cause chances are it will already past it's lifespan and 3o days warranty is better than none. The other problem is spares, they are always updating their models and they stop producing spares for the outdated models.
Just my 2cents
