the motor

put it in 1st gear and try and roll it forward (still in gear)to try and turn the motor over if it doesn't move then pull the head off and have a look,it sounds like he has seized one(or both)of his pistons in the barrels

cheers
luke

there is no doubt about it mate its siezed. some money will have to be spent
the worst of what you could have to do is replace the crank if it went in a big way as well as new pistons and rings , little end bearings , a bore and hone and a full gasket kit

if the crank is still good new pistons and rings, little end bearings , bore and hone and a top end gasket kit

dont pull the motor out of the bike though just drain all the coolant (easiet way is to just disconect the hose that goes into the side cover from the raidiator) remove the fuel tank then remove the head the ten nuts that suround the spark plugs to remove the head. if itis siezed you will know as soon as you have the head off. then to procede form there , remove the exhuast system air box , carbs ,intake manifold and reeds, there is 4 nuts on each barrel take them off to remove the barrels. once the barrel are off inspect the crank. send the barrels off to get bored and honed get them to order your new pistons and top and gasket kit and little end bearings. once you get it back wash the cylinders out put the new pistons on the rods aswell as the little end bearings and wrist pins as well as new base gaskets . but the new rings on pour a little 2 storke oil on both sides of the crank and down the barrels you can compress banshee piston rings by hand slide the cylinders back on and do up the nuts to torque specs which i can give you if you need. then the head gasket and do those nuts up (torque specs). replace everything else exhaust reeds carbs ect
and you should be good to go.

but if the cranks is stuffed it is a much longer storey and the motor come out of the bike.

if the head hasnt been shave before get it shaved it a cheap mod to raise the compression a little.

AND ALSO YOU HAVE TO FIND OUT WHAT SIEZE IT AS WELL CHECK FOR AIR LEAKS IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD THEY ARE PRONE TO CRACKING ESPECIALLY IF YOUR ARE RUNNING A BOOST BOTTLE(BOOST BOTTLE ARE MORE TROUBLE THEN THEY AR WORTH) ONCE IT IS RUNNING AGAIN AND RUN IN TO A PLUG CHOP TO CHECK THE MIXTURE ITS A FAIL SAFE WAY.

if you need any help PM me and im more then willing to help and get that banshee going again. as you can see i love my banshees

check out more pics in show us your ride topic

before you get too carried away with doom and gloom remove the spark plugs put it in gear and see if the engine turns over if it doesn't then it is most certainly as bad as it gets .
