How lucky we are to have these owners of Stockton dunes granting access again.
Petrice Manton of Worimi conservation lands said the changed conditions "are a reminder of the fragile and changeable nature of the Worimi conservation lands".
Be very careful to not ride or drive off the edge of one of the sand quarries in the "sacred" lands.
Sorry, I forgot no-one is allowed in this area to see the destruction.

Take a drive to Nelson Bay and look at the sand quarries on the "sensitive" sand hills. 55 million tons to be extracted for a start.

i was only curious because i haven't seen this said damage like stated. I may or may not have taken a trip or 2 up there when it was closed and the only thing i could see was some water on the dunes and a lot of which is still there currently as of last weekend.

apart from that there is no major damage to the dunes at all and if anything they have moved a touch further back into the bush due to the wind blowing of the water during that period which makes the half pipe heaps more fun to ride

I am talking about the hills to the north of the ATV area. If you think graders and front end loaders taking sand at 27 tons a truckload for the next 50 years is no damage, that's good.
I don't like the hypocrisy. Keep out of this area for fear of causing damage while the "owners" allow sand extraction for profit.
