HI prokiwi
Nice sentiments mate, but you might want to jogg your memory back a few weeks and read YOUR post on the Qld site under 'places to ride in Qld'. What I did was set a few records straight so that we all might be able to go forward instead of the obvious and inevitable ever decreasing circles. |

Hi Jaden , its Aaron here...remember i joined a few mths ago and u promised to send me a news letter , then u came back to me and said u had run out ...so i waited for the next one to come out ...... havn't seen my copy yet.
Did come to one of your meetings a few months ago at Carindale there. Wasnt what i expected, and unfortunately dont race so found it not my cup of tea.
Already working on ways to increase the quad fraternity , i notice in latest news letter (someone else's copy) , your club objective states " although we do offer racing , our main aim is to provide social and weekend rides without the pressure of the racing enviroment with likeminded quadnuts. "
Ive kept an eye on the schedule of events on the website but have yet to see a "non racing " event other than the sand trip.
Do they not happen ?? is there something that stops them ???
It would be good to get some more discussion going on this subject. Id be keen to see why organised rides are not happening.

Thanks Derek , I do remember stating that there are few places to legally ride in QLD.
That was what everybody else kept telling me anyway.
I nearly gave up the sport and sold my toys , then i decided to go look for myself.
I have since found there are actually a number of places to ride , eg Manar park- ( this one is a great spot if you like trails), State forests ( according to the legislation and local rangers anyway) , Blackduck, Glen Echo, Noosa Beach, etc etc etc .
( Ps i wont give away my favourites though.) LOL . And that is just the few i alone have found in the past few months.
I am finding many people in these areas riding , and none are aware of the website , or any clubs etc . If we were to get more members onto this forum /site then maybe we could actually get enough people together to give weight to supporting an event etc. If not at least it is an easy way of marketing the right image.
I firmly believe there are the numbers to support an event out there riding alone. Now we have to build the structure. Racing alone will not do that unfortunately.
I am happy to be another contact for anyone new to the sport that wants to know more.
Once again i think its about professionalism not idiotism. _________________ It's time too ride !!!!!!! |

QQRC decision to use the tivoli track as our local track was the only choice we had. Most of the other clubs have to many members due to wheelstanders closing down. Tivoli has been very accommodating. It's a bonus for jayden being so close to him but that had no influence. It was the best choice and that is why i travel 2hours to get there. Find us a better and more welcoming track and we'll be in.
As for how Jayden and Derek talk to each other on this forum. most people reading it would not know what to think. they wouldn't know that you are friends just having a dig at each other. I know you both and sometimes I'm shocked about what i read. I would like to read posts where you back each other up and say good things about each other. I Think i speak for a lot of people when i say we appreciate what you both do for quad ridding and racing. Yes especially you Derek THANKS. But where is the love. |

Hey Derek
Lets take this back a step. I never came here to upset anyone, and love the sport as much as you do but hey he! call me a (really nice person) i 'll step up to the plate.
All I want to do is get my kids racing or riding with other kids.
What can I do? or what should I do to get my kids out there racing without having to change there rides.....that Mod mini racer I just built took me 18 months i can put a 110 cc in it if i have to but dont want to do that...... i would give any club the support for numbers at a race me.

hi aaron,
yes i remember you. ill check your address with you before the next edition. every member gets one, so maybe we have a wrong address ?
as for non racing events, our membership is 90% racers and as such we cater to our membership. Ive asked others who are only social to get involved such as yourself, but todate, no takers. If you would like to help, the offer is still there. we would appreciate your help in pushing the social riding in qld. can you help?

As a newbie to this website and to organized quad events in general, I am often frustrated by the fact that I can't find a legal place to ride that is not a race track. I am one of those people Prokiwi mention(not that we have met) that had no idea this web site or even organized quad events existed. I would be happy to help promote quad riding be it racing or social.
On another topic I agree with John Sherlock about the posting on this web site. I have come from the modified car scene, and when searching forums looking for info and people to chat with on a topic, I have seen alot of forums. I always start out by seeing how good a resource the info is. Searching through the forum I see what sort of people are posting on the site. Some sites I have left after reading one page. This is mainly due to the fact that from the posts it seems that the only people contributing to the forums are 13 year olds out to abuse everyone that doesn't agree with them. I mean no offence, but if you wish for this site to be taken as a professional quad promoting forum then keeping the posts mature may help. _________________ Ive heard that sound before and this is going to hurt |

I thought I might interject here and agree with John and others and suggest that we all "clean up our act" regarding the way we speak to each other. I would also be put off by some of the questionable comments that have been posted in the Queensland section, the slagging off and Gay innuendo should stop. It seems everyone is quick to go for the jugular as soon as anyone puts up a post, everyone needs a fair go.
I too am not that keen on the racing scene (MX anyway) but have failed to contribute in any way to improving on the trail riding scene. I have good spots that I enjoy riding at but have not involved anyone else due to my concerns over someone spoiling my chances of returning there. Either way we all have 1 thing in common which is our sport so maybe we can try to play nice? (I am also guilty of the odd rye comment)
Could we consider the Stocton Beach trip an oppertunity to discuss QQRA's trail/social riding future where we can meet in a social enviroment??

Hi- i may have missed some of the thoughts and stuff on this topic (because there are a lot of posts but. .)
Heres my thoughts
It seems to me like there are A LOT of kids classes for you guys. Here were have 5-8years and 8-11 years and then 12-16years- with certain capacitys attatched. and it our region have 18 in the 12-16 and around 15 over the other two.
Its not like queenland is america where parents drag their kids from race to race on the best bikes (because there is so many of them), you dont even have the stock classes getting turn outs
I think that if you get back to the basics, you may end up with a lot of families coming out and racing, and you will get more people in each class- as most young kids dont really need a faster bike unill they know how to use the power they have
Sorry if ive annoyed anyone! |

its in relation to capacity, so 90cc would be allowed a capacity of 94.5cc and 125cc would be allowed 130cc |

We are family members of the club too. I have asked & asked about kids racing but always the same answer, we need more kids. We, as parents with under 10's also ride with others in our position & all say the same thing. They want to be part of the club but don't want all the politics & bullshit.
C'mon people lets all get on & work together. At this rate we are gonna have nothing to offer our kids. This GREAT sport we all love there is so much more we can do. _________________ WE OFFER DISCOUNT TO ALL AUSSIE ATV RIDERS/MEMBERS www.kaosracewear.com |

Hello Kaos
Please take a look in the QLD section of this forum and you will see that one of Queensland’s top quad riders has organized a kid only quad only training day at Tivoli raceway to be held on the (I think) 30th of this month
I am unaware of any age or quad restrictions so you may need to contact them via the number listed
Hope this helps you out and I think most would agree its all about our kids and good on the people involved in organizing this event (I just hope every one supports it)
Thanks Daniel AKA “HUGE” _________________ -------------------------------------------------------

listen to us carry on like school kids.
I dont want to race, but would love to do some trail riding with others like myself who love the sport......and even better would love to see the kids class start to take off here in QLD. From what I read the guys that want to race have joined the club, made an efford and gone racing because thats what they want to do, so all of us that want to see the kids class get up an running and trail rides happening.......maybe we should join the club and make it happen. I'm sure the club would love some more input.
I'm happy to help....are you ??? |
