| Hi guys thought I'd join up now I have just bought a 2006 Yamaha Kodiak 4x4 for hunting and camping.it has 13000 klms on it & around 2000 hrs.I work for an auction company and this came through cheap and managed to buy it for $1400.obviously the ks are high as a company Owned a few of them.everything works fine and apart from the plastics faded its a bargain.the one issue is the daily checklist started to say using lots of engine oil! So the oil was black and low.when riding it blows bluish smoke,not too much but noticeable.any ideas?? Thanks again |

Hey mate, Sounds like it might be a bit old on the inside. Put some good oil in it and ride it around for a while. As long as it starts, idles and runs well... and you can reasonably keep up with topping up the oil occasionally...
Who cares! ride it and have some fun for as long as it takes to gather your rebuild ideas.
It could be just rings or a valve guide, but where you stop freshening it up will really be up to you.

| Hey mate, yeah I've been told to just keep up the oil changes and it might come good.like you said just enjoy it and ride it . |
