| I think they are fair questions. it would be very interesting to know what kind of skill level / experience ATVLG has, and the best way to guage that would be to have him come for a ride, who knows they might be able to convince us of the products merits, or alternately we might be able to get our point of view across.... either way, as long as everybody can respect the fact that we all have different opinions on this issue, it might be a learning experience for all of us.. |

Yes love to go riding Quads with you ! I am based in Melbourne, Victoria,
but travel across Whole of Australia who is close by ??
My first bike was a Honda XL 185 in 1980, got caught doing wheelies
up the main street ( 3km ) by the police, thank goodness they smacked
me around the ear, and sent me home.
When is the next Quad ride ?? I will bring my Lifeguard along!
in 2012 there were 578 people killed by Quads in USA, and 100,000
hospitalized,
keep safe! |

Please if you stop quoting accident figures based in the usa you just might be taken a little more serious,
The population and the amount of quads over there are far higher than here is Australia, so please be a little bit more upfront with the point you are trying to get across. _________________ 2012 Can am Outlander Xt 1000cc

And, based on theorem mathematics, calculus, surveys and linear fundamental progression, the USA has approx 13.5319148936 more fools, hold my beer and bad luck/poop happens to me types than in Australia.
Hence you have the ability to target so many more people over there.
You will also find our American counterparts have a love of bling, whether it's useful or not.
Maybe you can put some alternating coloured LED lights on it?
Incorporate advertising slogans with the light display, and the corporate world will likely embrace you.
And, like so many products before, be blatantly copied and made offshore to thank you for your efforts. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

I think that over 192 deaths on Quad Bikes in last ten years is worth discussing? unless you are unable to put forward a valid counter argument, which from the comments made, does not seem likely...........
If a Quad Bike rolls over, the impact on the body of the rider is reduced by up to 90%, as tested independently by Melbourne Professional crash testing company.
Another fact, not one person has ever been killed with a CPD fitted.... |

I'm not convinced that a roll over device is of any benefit; it may help in some circumstances but hurt in others. I have no objection to asking the question though. You believe they help and that's fine with me.
192 deaths is worth discussing but it needs to be objective and not from the perspective of someone who is trying to sell a product.
The quad fraternity is quite educated when it comes to safety statistics. Further study in to these deaths uncovered that in the overwhelming majority of cases the deceased was not waring a helmet or using the vehicle in a dangerous manner eg: speeding, overloaded etc.......
Any vehicle used improperly is a recipe for disaster. The key is education and training. |

Why don't you rock up to the 2nd part of the Qld Coroners inquest, in November?
And give the Aluminium bobby pin some competition?
Don't worry about having a agenda, because any agenda won't be lonely there......
There be "independant" testing from all over coming. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

How many of the 192 deaths over the last decade involved people not wearing PPE (helmets at the very least)?... and what percentage involved alcohol?
funny 19.2 people killed on Quads per year and it makes national headlines.. the same number get killed on Horses each year and nobody says a thing... |

"For those less enlightened, and so uptight about us, the recreational riders, I'll offer the following:
We are over 80% of the actual users, regardless of what figures are touted as correct, we are the 4 out of 5 riders out there.
We do not have a governing body.
We do not have a govt that gets this. (Except Tassie. They've got it wired.)
Yet, despite us being a self regulated, dis organised, bunch of over 200 thousand across the country, having few places to legally ride, somehow we wear enclosed footwear, DOT approved helmets, appropriate riding apparel and other PPE, all by ourselves.
We cover more disciplines of our sport than most critics can comprehend.
We maintain our bikes, including tyre pressures.
We upgrade our bikes with bits to make them go, stop and turn better.
In short, we know more about us than any one or any group out there.
So maybe "they" should ask instead of telling! " _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

I have already supplied the independent report carried out by PC Crash Test to the Coroners office, it will be used in the November review.
Latest accident
A 60-year-old suffered serious head injuries in a quad bike rollover, west of Coffs Harbour. |

And he got head injuries from what? The bike? the ground?
Was he wearing PPE?
What actually caused the accident?
Did he have training?
Was a quad bike the right machine for the terrain?
What was the tyre pressures? Tyre condition?
How well was the quad maintained?
WTF is your point? _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

I think quoting this is really poor form on your part..........distasteful, petty and insincere. Your statement proves nothing.
You have made your opinion clear and now I think you should just go away. |
