Hi, I have been trying to get this going for a while. If you got Ideas & know kids count me in. I've got a 4 year old (5 in Nov) who is looking to race.
We are members of QQRA but they are only doing racing from 8 years up.
I can be contacted here or via website www.kaosracewear.com

my girl is 7 and have built her a full mod mini racer but she also has a stock pro shark. The mod bike is a 125cc four stroke which can't be raced just yet.....we are geting the rules changed from 110cc to 125cc four stroke.
So I have two kids that can ride at an event, my son rides a two wheeler...but can ride a quad at an event to make up numbers.
wounder if we could get enought of us together to hire Reedy creek for a day. My son rides there every wed nite... i will ask how much.
Even a big trail ride get together.
I am very keen to get the bull rolling with these little mini's |

well dont that suck.
So my 7 year old girl has two quads and can't race any of them. pro shark 100cc 2 stroke and full modified 125cc four stroke. who are the (sausage) heads that make the rules.
thats why we can't get the numbers to a race meet because the rules are to hard.
you can see why most dads get there kids to race two wheelers. |

just people that are passionate like yourself about quads but have loved and raced em for years.
Derek R {ie;poster above}is the National Quad advisory committee representative from QLD
they'll make the rule recommendations that may or may not be accepted by M.A. _________________ 007257 where are you???.... bring back the Bling |

Hi Quadmad
Just for the record (really nice person), your 7 year old daughter would not be allowed to race a 100cc 2 stroke or a 125cc 4 stroke in the solo classes either. if as you say "The rules are too hard" then maybe you should get an adult to explain them to you ! If bye any chance you might have some constructive critisism or imput or suggestions to quad rulings etc then I and a lot of other people who can make a difference would be more than please to listen and discuss your proposals. This proceedure is known as progressive communication and usually gets positive results, so give it a go and lets see what we as a quad community can acheive for our kids.

Don’t know who is the (really nice person) here, YOU have been trying to get kids racing going for years, and can’t work out why it’s not happening.
6 kid classes, and we can’t even get one class up and running in QLD. YOU go to the AGM’s. Work it out for yourself…There is not enough kids that want to race mini’s or will race to have 6 classes…Can you not see that…and you call me a (really nice person).
So! Do I take out the 125cc four stroke (slow) that I put in for my 7 year old girls’ quad and put a CR85 (fast) motor in it and when you get a class going I will put my 10 year old boy on it and smoke them all? That’s not real real racing and not fun to watch.
You got the wrong idea Derek and took it the wrong way, (what I said).
I WILL GET THE KIDS RIDING……… trust me, maybe you should worry about getting the adults to turn up at events and stop burning other clubs like Reedy Creek.
Lets forget the racing and just get the kids together.
I have a Camp set up on a friends farm at Woodenbong 1.5 hours from Brisbane which has a full motorcross track and camping area so maybe I should ask the farmer if we can do a camp out weekend in June with the kids on quads. If any of you parents would be keen to look at a kids on quads weekend please show interest by email. Quadmad_kev@yahoo.com.au or phone me Kev 0412 557 977.
Mums and dads could bring their bikes also. |

I dont think you could do that anyway. It says above in the thread that the 7 to 10 years old up to 90cc 2-stroke class is for standard machines.... The CR85 engine in a quad chassis is not standard at all. _________________ Mic

yep all junior quads must run OEM engine cases and frames
we have standards 7 & 8 yr olds running here
mods 9 to under 13
and a full grid of blasters...
it has taken a generation of juniors to get it happening, but it finally has...
Duty of care, rules, risk management etc etc... if you want to race under MA rules... theyre the rules, if you want to race elsewhere, not under MA, you can do what you want. _________________ www.waquadmx.com |

Hey quadmad
Your first seven words of your reply says it all, but let me spell out the answer for you once again.....ITS YOU !!!!!!!!!!!! If you used some of your uneducated enthusiasm to do something positive and legal for the promotion of junior quad racing then I would be one of the first to get onboard with you to make it happen, but as we all know, talk is cheep. Last november the QQRA hosted the 2006 Qld MX quad championships at reedy creek which included ALL of the junior quad classes but how many Qld parents botherd to enter their kids and support these classes ???? The answer my learned friend is ONE SINGLE QLD ENTRY but luckily the very proactive victorians and New south Wales and south Australian parents did, so either "put up or Shut up".
Now whilst you are going to change the face of junior quad racing in Australia you might also want to inform your farmer friend that you do not have the necessary $20,000,000 public liability policy in place (and never likely to) and see how he responds. Either way its a litigation and legal time bomb that even you are obviously frighteningly unaware of. Then there is the whole "Commission for children and young people and child guardian" (Positive Blue Card) which is mandatory requirement and screening process throughout Australia for anybody involved with the organisation of any child related events such as junior footy coaching and junior racing and recreational activities.
As for your allegation of me burning the reedy creek club I have absolutely no idea of what you are on about, but then again you've already proven that neither do you. Any other accusations or statements that you might have should be directed to the secretary of the QQRA of which I have not been on the committee of for nearly two years.
Unlike you , I do not see the benifits of a squabble on a forum that is generally used for the promotion of quad and quad enthusiasts, but if you still can't understand the very simplistic guidelines and regulations to junior quad racing in Australia then please feel free to P.M. me and I will give you my workshop address (25mins north of goldcoast)and we can carry on this charming and eductional conversation face to face.
Regards

good to see rumble getting trash talked too !! ive taken his crap for years and now finally someone else is having a go at him. I suggest we start a new club called "lets call rumble a (really nice person) society"
we could meet every month and throw darts at a picture of him? maybe burn life size images of him also? at the end of the meeting we could dance around a fire chanting racially motivated songs aimed at balding poms who give us the shits !! |

You can't possibly be that thick skinned as to not realise that he was also having a dig at how you alone personally encouraged all of the QQRA members to not use the reedy creek track and to all now use the Tivoli track instead. Which is coincidently only several Klms from your house and one of the many reasons why I resigned from the QQRA committee some time ago.

The decision to change venue was voted upon by the QQRA members for a number of reasons, the reasons below.
-we were racing at reedy under their clubdays, socially. not as a qqra event.
-we needed to run our races under the qqra banner and tivoli gave us the following advantages
-quad only practice days (weve had 2 already)
-2 classes on race day, senior and junior (not that we had the junior numbers yet)
These races although run on MDMX clubdays, are also part of the QQRA mx series. Reedy was not.
Dont get me wrong, i love reedy, but many riders were put off by the technical track, including you darkchild !! tivoli is more user friendly and so the motion was put to the club and it was voted upon. I did not make the decision myself.
I hope this clears things up.

And u guys all wonder why Quads are not popular in Queensland . Take a look at what u all have just "marketed" above to potential newbies.

i agree with prokiwi. derek rumble and i are good mates and we use this forum to amuse ourselves like most of us.
prokiwi are you a member of the qld club? if not, mate we need all the members we can get. all members get to vote on important issues such as junior racing and we appreciate any help qld quad riders can give us.
the club is for everyone, including trail riders. In fact we need social/trialrider members to help our club grow. We offer discounts thru atv product suppliers and other benefits.
all welcome

Yes Fourtrax I am a member of Queensland ATV club , although from what i see on these forums I often wish i wasn't .
Like many I am a heavy supporter of all things quad related and have been for 10 yrs +.
I think we all need to be more professional to "newbies" coming into the fold , otherwise if they see all the "w@nk factor" attitudes they will take their quads and their kids and go ride alone .
I am absolutely amazed at the number of ATV riders I have met in Queensland in the past 7 mths ive been here, who ride regulary but do not wish to be part of the QQRA.
This weekend alone I have met 7 different quad riders who I have given this website detail too.
I have ridden in three different places this weekend , 400km's apart.
There are heaps of riders out there ...we have just got to act more professional and do the yards to get them onboard.
At this stage I support the forum , but not the QQRA. Lets develop all facets of quadriding , not just racing.
Just my humble opinion as an outsider new to qld _________________ It's time too ride !!!!!!! |

Im even thinking of getting a sticker made up of the website and putting it on the back of my Trailer as a free advert.
Maybe this is something more could do.
Patrick .(admin) ..... any ideas ??? Id become a "supporting member" if I got a sticker kit .
Maybe others would do the same. 400 trailers with the website address has got to help. _________________ It's time too ride !!!!!!! |

hi,
im sorry i dont know your name prokiwi, anyway, if you would like to help promote quads in qld the club is the best way to do it.
we are always looking for helpers in anyway, if you think you can help promote trail riding we could use you. it sounds like you would like to help lift the game, if so, please give me a call or better yet, we have a club meeting this wednesday night at 7:30 pm at the Abruzzo club 150 Fursden rd Carina. Will we see you then?
