|
speedway practice days are held at gillman during the off season on the first sunday of the month commencing 6/5/07
gates open around 9.00am with practice at 10.00am
fairly informal arrangement with just a rec licence required to come and give it a go
cost $10 for entry to venue + $10 to ride
one event rec licences now $20 |

 |
|
G'day Guys and Girls,
I'm after some information to set up my TRX450 for my first attempt at speedway. Just wondering, what sort of gearing is needed, suspension setup, tyre pressures, and so on. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers |

sure kev, you just don't want to give away all your setup secrets
Tuffer, you can safely ride a bog stock bike at speedway, however lowering the bike will aid cornering, a turf type rear tyre works better than an aggresive knobby and the track managers prefer them. I run 18" rear tyre for lower clearance but there are guys like bullet and lucky running 20" and doing well.
the only thing you definitely need for speedway is a quad that will pass scrutineering ie nerf bars, plugged bar ends and a tether kill switch. for personal safety you must also wear a commercial back protector pressure suit type jacket. _________________ Proud Member of QuadridersSA
