I have a 2009 yfz450r I need a lanyard kill switch for racing I know there are two different types a normally open that connects to the coil and a normally closed that connects to the stock kill/run switch my question is
if I get a normally open wire it to the coil will it damage my electronics
or should I get a normally closed switch?

Get a correct one from Yamaha (GYTR) as they have the kill switch and wiring loom that it just plugs into the loom that is already on your bike. If you get a aftermarket one and wire it up wrong it can cost you a lot of money as it can fry your computer and cost hundreds of dollars in replacement parts .
