gday buzz, u saw my denton racing damper, its basic & does the job , but when it shits itself thats it, cant rebuild it, throw away & start again. im hoping on taking the plunge & getting a precision. ive heard all good things about them but they do cost big $$$$ _________________ 04 TRX 450r

There's only one Big JB and that's a Precision. You know it, so stop pretending |

I had a JMC dampener on my last Banshee, cost $260 and worth every cent.
I mainly do MX riding, and I could notice a big differance on the handlebars over the bumps and ruts
I have a new banshee, and will be putting one on shortly _________________ Don't JEW me................ok |

a rotary damper is the only way to go for performance and longevity
Precision
MSC
Elka
Scotts/Ohlins
once you ride with a rotary that has been properly setup you wont want to go back to a rod-type damper |

I have an Elka System 5 Damper and I am happy with it. I have heard that piston style dampers do not last as long but they are much cheaper. _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

my personal preference in for a rotary type one but as has already been stated they are expensive. the only one of the current rotary dampers that I havent had yet is the Elka but I will be getting one for a test soon hopfully then I will do a comparison between all the highend rotary dampers that are available here.
For the kind of riding you are doing buzzbro a rod type like the one JB has will be adequate (and easier on the bank ballance). _________________

| I bought a Rod style dampner for my YFZ and didnt like it at all, upgraded to a MSC, which was spot on. Now i've fitted out my HONDA the MSC didnt fit cause of my shocks, so i've gone for a ELKA 3 SERIES which has a high and low speed setting. Havent ridden it yet but will keep you posted. |

Any damper is better than none at all !
If your on a tight budget the rod type is fine(Pro Racers in the states still use up to Three rod styles)
If you can spend more the rotary is another option.
I have run JMC,Denton rod style and rotary type Precision and MSC.
IMHO the MSC is the Best money can buy and the JMC (Made in Japan)is best value for money . _________________ Cheers
