I've got a new carb for my old dr and it came with a thumb throttle I have a twist grip for it but being a quad rider most of the time I wondered how a thumb throttle would go Any thoughts out here?

I have a thumb throttle on my 2007 crf 450r..love it..twist throttle was killing me in the whoops..all the bike guys laugh at me. I live in southern California usa..hoping to move to Australia in 2 yrs..
