Hi Jackal, your camo job looks great.

I'm interested in doing the same in the future. I'm curious, seeing as you have had it on for a little while, how it is holding up wear and tear wise?

Also can you supply more info on how you went about doing your camo patterns.

Mate it took a bashing on the last trip manly from trees. It held up very well but I used good paint. We have a paint mob here in Brisse that makes camo paint for the DoD. The company is called Protec. I got the brown, green and black, it's about $12 a can. The stencil I just got from the net. Printed out the image, cut the image out and transferred to some stencil card from a craft shop. I just checked google images for roos and southern cross... Cleaned the panels with soap and water. then gave them a wipe down with clean turps. Sprayed the panels in plastic primer. couple of coats. sprayed the panels in grey primer.. this may not be necessary! Then gave all the panels about 5 coats of the brown/tan. Applied the stencil with the green and after I applied them randomly.. I then "dusted" the whole thing with the black...
I used 1 1/2 cans of brown, 1/3 of the green and stuff all of the black. just over 1 can of plastic primer and about 1/3 a can of grey primer.

Hope this helps. if you need any more tips let me know..

Happy painting...

MrsB's Outlander 400.
She loves it. Way different to the DS450X MX, but now her prefered ride. The Outlander ride and IRS is nicer on the lower back.

Black plastics, Stock Renegade rims, High flowed muffler, softer rear springs and HPG shocks, Fury ECO 25 inch tyres.

The Fury tyres are a fairly small 25 inch tyre and not a massively agressive pattern, which make them really light weight easy work for the 400 to push around.

MrsB only liked it a lot when it was Red... But now loves it in Black Smile

Brought a 4000lbs winch to for the gade a while back, not researching b4 I brought it. I've since found out that the factory can am winch mounting kits can only fit upto a 2500lbs winch in them so I've had to come up with a solution myself

Tacked up

Welded and painted up, starting to fit

Final result. IMO a better/stronger cradle than can am offer for nothing but a few hrs work

Also did a stealth snorkle install a couple of wks ago using a "snorkle ur atv" kit from the states. Easy to fit and great looking kit. No photos tho, oops

Banff, have a look at the Canam Commander. Bigger all round compared to the Rhino and a lot more storage and features, and better quality finish too. Price of the Rhino and the Commander 800R is very close.
