I'm after a set of rear speedway tyres for my trike. 10 inch. 18 x 10 preferred but will consider all.
Cheers. _________________

| I'd be looking at 20" diameter tyres. Big rolling diameter like a sprint car. Perfect for speedway. |

Thanks guys.
I've looked at that site before Barn and for some reason I thought they were 200 a tyre
I was thinking an 18 tall tyre as there would be less sidewall flex. Does that seem right? _________________

| If you get a 4 or 6 ply tyre and run the correct pressure sidewall flex is not an issue. |

| The reason Sprintcars run a 33 or 34 inch tyre on a 15 inch rim is for side bite. To stiff or a small tyre wall will not flex under load to sustain traction, but rather keep the tyre in solid formation which will result in spinning of the tyre's. While ever that's happening your going nowhere. |

Restall knows his stuff.
However, too much sidewall flex on a light weight trike can be a tipping issue but some is OK. You also don't want small diameter tyres following every dip and hollow in the track surface. Just like solid lowering struts and tieing down the rear end promotes bouncing over imperfections which helps the rear tyres do useless spinning, larger diameter and a little flex and movement in the tyres is good thing. |
