Just sent him an email. I'll see what he says.

Any news on the rear shocks? I borrowed some Red Ryder rears off a Polaris irs and trial fitted them. They will need a little bit of clearance (grinding) but i think they will work,at least they have some rebound dampning.
The only thing i"m not sure about is the spring rate.
I may have to fit the trx springs.I will look at this when time permits.

I have had my rear OEM shocks re-valved and serviced and the result is a new bike! A mate suggested I talk to Steve from Suspension Improvements in Slacks Creek, Brisbane. I asked for some more rebound dampning and a good service and now my quad doesn't buck in the rear andit turns (slides) much more consistently. It also tracks much better in rutted 4x4 tracks ,not ducking and weaving left and right(great at 70 kph!!) I thought the steering damper was helping but I forgot I had not refitted it after cleaning the frame. That should help as well when I refit it.
I was looking at fitting some CR 250 shocks coz the look like they fit and as they are the same spring rate as the trx, the valveing would be similar. I almost fitted the polaris rear shocks coz they do fit but springs are half the rate of the trx.
Anyway, can'wait to ride it again and pass those pesky 450 trail bikes!!

How much did that set you back Gazman, if you don't mind me asking.
I.m really not sure which way to go with these as she kicks & bucks quite a bit in the back, so I'd like to soften it up a bit as well, even considered trying my spare front springs on the rears , but don't want to reintroduce the body roll I had before I upgraded the sway bar. I've got the preload all the way up & it hardly budges when I sit on it, & I've added 13kg since I bought this bike. Sad Surprised (that's to me not the bike) eek

HI Priesty, just check the price with Steve but I think it was about $390.
I only have the stock sway bar on the rear.I think the stock valving is the cause of a lot of the bad traits of he trx700. Now I have some rebound and just better dampning, it just slides a lot or a little,it just depends on how much gas I give it.Before it was a bit of a struggle to get around some tight corners in the bush.It would slide a bit ,then grip then slide a bit.Now I just go around corners! I have kenda klaws all round and usually about 9-10 psi in them. Also like you I have LTR450 front shocks. The preload on the rear springs is wound right off. I weigh about 85 kg. (really?)
Hope this info helps.
