Okay this for the newbies (KIDS) parents up to TP this year, if your little one hasnt a MA kids licence, you will need a day permit BUT they will need to do a 5 hour course to get a day licence, contact your local club ASAP, we have fallen into this trap but thanks to some great people we will have this resolved.

it would be a terrible thing to rock up there without the correct paperwork and told your child cant race.... Sad

if some one from respective clubs can put this into actual understanding english PLEASE do so, as I dont want to mislead people with incorrect infomation.

Correct Yogie.

For a Junior to obtain a one event licence they must have completed and passed their kick start programme including the 5 hours coaching and obtained a Junior log book from their state controlling body as a minimum.

Fortunately though, unlike in previous years they don't have to do the mandatory 5 hours of coaching every year, unless they are going up to a larger displacement machine. For example, if Johnny did his 5 hours coaching last year on his 90cc quad and he is still in that age group this year he does not have to do more coaching (but he can if he wants), however if he is going up to the 200/300 class this year, he must be coached on that size machine before he can compete.

...and because Johny has already completed his 5 hours Kick Start coaching on the 90, he will not have to do 5 hours again for the next year on the 200 / 300cc machine.
He will only need a competency assessment on the larger machine by an accredited coach. Depending on Johny's demonstrated ability, this could be completed in a fraction of the time.
