It's time to take a stand.
Who else is sick of people that fan the flames of the ATV safety debate, like "Tony Robertson" always feigning sympathy for families of ATV victims & egging them on, but never publicly disclosing that he owns a business called "Quadbars Australia" & hence has a financial incentive to peddle his misinformation ?

I urge anyone who has a vested interest in this debate, & let's face it that's all of us, to head on over to the "fight for Sam" facebook page:

and have your say before it's too late. (please keep in mind that these people lost their 11 year old son on a quad, so keep it civil & courteous).
These people continue to deny any responsibility for children injured & killed in ATV accidents. Instead apportioning the blame directly to the quad itself. It's time these people realise they need to take responsibility for their actions & that ROPS bars are not the solution but are a proven danger in themselves.
Be prepared to be blocked after you post (as several of us already have been)
as they struggle to deal with the real truths.

Would like to comment on how great it was to have Emily and Dean, and Lilly and Zac at the ACTU quad bike safety event ay Collingwood Children's Farm on 17 October 2012.
And a special thanks for them allowing Zac to get up on my full size quad bike (three times) to demonstrate that these units which are not to be operated by anyone under 16 can be easily operated by a 6 year old.

and this is a safety event















Glenn Prentice wow and everone blames the ATV manufacturers!!!!! the not under 16 warnings are for a reason the mother admitted that her 11 year old did not have strength to control a full size quad and you put a 6 year old on one !!!!!!!!!!!! and spruke about it what is wrong with you?

John Lambkin ^^^^^^is a very bigoted engineer.
He will not engage in any discussion outside of nuts and bolts.
( So much so I kind of wonder if he married a meccano set and has little metal kids with in built rops on them...)

He is more vocal however, than Dave Roberts, ACD manufacturer, who slips out from under his rocks, spits bull and vanishes again to count his consiberable wealth while avoiding phone calls from those looking for payment according to local knowledge....

Professor Tony Lower(Li{W}ar) is the ultimate zealot, who is very happy to issue "signed unamously" press releases with out authority from the other meeting members. A very large man, that I know personally, is awaiting a chance meeting to personally correct him for misquoting and falsely accrediting his signature and agreeance, as well as the organisation he represents, to certain documents. Quite wisely, as a academic with connections, he does not appear to utilise fb.

As for this family, blaming everything is a normal response to a abnormal situation. They'll move on eventually. The page appeals to the emotional in need, factually bereft, dribble fed antis however.

BTW, I recently responded to a local politician "concerned about dangerous non complying ATV deaths" by pointing out that a 129 lives in 10 years, in a non regulated "unsafe" nation-wide industry is nothing compared to the highly regulated, modern safe vehicles that have killed nearly 400 in 10 months , mainly on sealed roads and highways in Qld alone.............
He hasn't banned me yet.

Unlike The Greens Australia, who are masters at banning inappropiate opinion (me) while wanting free love, weed, land and money.........

There is a story on ABC 7.30 report tonight and nine news about another unfortunate Quad accident yesterday near Pt Lincoln in SA and further calls for ROP and banning kids on Quads.
Our condolences go out to the young girls family and friends.

There was another one on Christmas day.. two kids doubling on a quad on a town common not sure where... in both cases they suffered from head injuries... makes me wonder whether they had any safety gear on at all...

Okay we need a fb page that will debunk these stories for inacuussies BUT its got to be run wihout emotion and finger pointing. for eg a 7 year old being dinked, well go into great detail about the safety issuse, and the blame needing be directed towards the apropiate partys, regardless of the emotion and the rawnes of the situation.
And page admin needs to be very switched on and while coments are open to everyone, i think each news article should have a disclaimer of sorts. explaining that this news article has some errors ? or chunks of info left out for what ever reason. I will excuse myself because i am biased and hate stupid farmers who kill their kids.
I would prefer preisty to do it myself.

Just watched the story on the 7.30 Report. Sounds like trikes all over again.
40 people killed over how many years. 10 people killed in cars so far this Christmas break. Let's ban cars.
We were camping over the beach the other night when a bloke rolls up with himself and three of his kids all on one quad . No helmets on any of them.
You can't regulate stupid.

We need to be able to quote facts and figures, like the above, when we interact with ANTI QUAD PEOPLE. Personal insults and slanging matches gets us nowhere.
