EDIT: Figured it out. Now a How to guide.
To connected a Normally Open (NO) switch to your YFZ450R and need to splice the wires here is the simplest way and safest way. No need to connect it to your coil.
1. Find the connector to your crank angle sensor. Located just above the front sprocket.
2. Connect one wire to the red wire on the switch, and another to the bike frame. Job done. Photo's below. and video.
