Mark, please be advised that the rule re rear width of Speedway Quads has reverted back to the 1300mm size as of 1/1/2013. As stated previously, Gillman Speedway will no longer run quads at Gillman because of the safety issue that obviously the Quad Commission do not understand.
We do believe personally, that this rule was done for personal reasons nothing else, it is just a shame that the MA have these people on the Commission that are more about “getting people back� than the safety of all riders. This is our personal opinion.
Please post on your web and Facebook sites and thank all your members for the 6 successful seasons we have had the quads at Gillman and we are sorry for having to call this shot because of someone else’s incompetence.
The only person happy about this ruling, is the person that made this rule up, as this is the outcome that he was looking for.
We will run quads at as many meetings prior to this date as possible so at least you can re-coup some of your MA licence money wasted for this season. We are also sorry about all the money that your members have spent on the pit bays and signs at Gillman, we are quite happy to refund 50% of the rental fees that the riders have paid. Maybe MA will also refund 50% of the fee’s that your guy’s have paid to get licences to ride JUST SPEEDWAY. It truly is disappointing that it has come to this as we believe we have tried every avenue to keep quads racing at Gillman.

So is it that dangerous running a width of 1300mm on a speedway quad?

No. I believe it is all about the option to be able to run to 1400mm if the rider needs the confidence..... am I right in saying that 1300mm quad were still allowed anyway Mark?

You can run any width you want up to 1400mm
