You can see the sender unit through the filler. The sender unit wiring ends up under the front panel. You have to take the front rack off, and then the "bonett" to get to the plug. While you've got the bonnet off, make yourself familiar with whats under there.
You can down load a free workshop manual from the distributors.
It's helpful even if some things get lost in translation. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

about the free workshop manual , i am searched for a long time but i do not find any manual for my atv model
(cfmoto 500A 2 seaters 2010 with digital instrument panel)

That PDF manual will do the job. Your bike is the same as mine, and other than the instruments, is basically the same as the earlier model.
You will work it out. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Ok, at the front of the bike, there is the front rack. You take that off. 2 small bolts at front posts, two small bolts through mudguards, and two large bolts, hidden under small removable panels.
Between the left and right front mudguards, going from the top of the grill to the the seperate panel under the handlebars, is one panel.
That is what we call the bonnet. ( Like what you lift up to check the engine in a ordinary motor car. )
By memory, two plastic screw type fasteners hold the rear corners of this bonnet down. You pop them up from underneath in the mudguards.
When they are removed, this bonnet is held in place by plastic tongues in the sides of the panel and the grill, which engage in slots in the mudguards and the grill.
You prize the sides up and then slide the panel forward.
Underneath that panel is the diff vent lines, your CVT intake, a black box about the size of a cigarette packet, which is the CDI, various relays, connecting electrical plugs, and the radiator cap.
The two wires for the fuel sender come from under the fuel tank and clip in to a plug from the wiring harness. If that plug is not properly seated, the fuel gauge will not work.
The sender unit uses a float on a wire which operates rheostat. That is an entire assembly including the wiring.
Most of these bikes read empty when less than half a tank of fuel is left.
So, make sure it is full of fuel first and the gauge works before pulling it all apart. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Vent lines most likely. Diff, egr or fuel. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Well, I'm in Qld Australia. Other than service items like filters, which can be cross referenced to a variety of suppliers, I use one of two dealer networks here. I suggest you search the web for your country. You know about this forum and the Canadian based one.
Below is my own experience with this bike.
Mud wears out the brakes pads pretty quick, like most quads.
I've had a few things wear and tear with some of the deep water I was running through. A CV boot, a crook gear position sensor , a fuel valve and a secondary starter solonoid is the tally for three hard years. (<$ 150 all up. )
They were all sourced through the dealer network.
The CVT was a problem from the factory, which the factory supplied the bits for. I later upgraded that with a Dalton CVT kit and replaced the original drive belt with a Dayco. That was sourced from a local supplier.
A little gasket between the header pipe and the muffler has caused me some heat related issues, which is what promted the belt change.
You know about the brake switches and the fuel gauge.
My bike is used for trail riding and hunting, carrying near a full load often and fuel consumtion is about 2 litres and hour and on gentler riding gives about 10km a litre. Temperatures in summer often exceed mid 30 Celcius here in summer, and it handles those temps well.
Loaded back road cruising is a breeze at about 65km/h, it will do a 100 but is happier lugging down lower.
We'll be upgrading soon to a X8 Terralander, for touring with it's better seat, greater torque and better highway gearing. And keeping this bike for the rougher work.
I hope that helps. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

The oil filter can be from a variety of filter manufacturers.
You don't have to use the original. If you can take the original out for the filter supplier to measure, he should be able to help you out.
I am currently using a Baldwin Brand in mine, and have used others.
The air filter is a oil impregnated foam job and they last for a long time with regular maintenance, but can also be cross referenced.
The CVT, or constantly variable transmision, is on the right hand side behind the long oval metal cover secured by lots of shiny 8mm bolts.
This is what takes the drive from the centrifugal clutch to the gearbox by a belt which connects to variable diameter sheaves.
As the centrifugal clutch shares oil with the engine, make sure you use the correct grade synthetic motor oil.
ATV's are very expensive here also. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.
