By the Terralander, I'm guessing you mean the 800cc V-twin X8.
Not much in the way of engine mods. I've read of some OS places selling upgraded chips, but I've not heard any unsponsored feedback.
And any exhaust work would be custom.
The newer, Canadian designed, CVT is pretty good anyway.
The upgraded centrifical clutch is supposed to be a bit more HD.
The towball is a 2', not 50mm, as common on a lot of Asian stuff., so worth swapping that over if you intend to tow a bit.
The X6 and X8 have good to excellent shocks as standard.
The X8 comes standard with alloy skid plates, and you may find someone who can fabricate additional bar work if you so need.
The standard winch does the job, but you could go bigger.
So not much in upgrades.
Accesories such as electronics like GPS & UHF, lighting, fuel & water cells, bags, cases, wheels and tyres is the same as any other bike, you'll find something that fits and appeals to your budget/needs soon enough.
I hope that helps. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Hi Frankie, I recentley brought a 800 CF Moto Terralander, I am very happy with it, have done two rides recentley and have notched up 250 k's, still have it goverened a bit but will let it loose soon We have owned 3 CF's a SWB 500 and the two seater 500A. We have enjoyed owning and riding these quads and would recommend them to anyone getting into quadding as they are a very reliable robust quads, check out my photos/posts in 4x4 section and also in Tassie one too. All we added to our prevoius Motos were Barbusters for protection/warmth some storage bags for the A twin seater and a large hard storage box for the SWB 500. I had hand warmers added to the 800 for the winter ride and will add fuel cells to the front and will look at a storage box/bag for the rear soon. We still have the SWB 500 & the 800 and I recentley spoilt my better half with a Polaris EPS 550 and this was because of the power steering and also of the mid-year deal Cheers Nigel
Ps, and a cooler/warmer on the back of the 800 for those items needed out on a ride
Photos are from our recent two day winter lakes ride...

Very happy with its power & torque, handling is pretty good because its a big unit 394 Kg, no power steering as of yet I believe but been told it should be in Aus within the year for the 800. As I have said before love the engine braking on the new generation of CF's, also like the suspension, tyres/wheels and looks & sound of my new 800.
All up a very happy Quadder Nigel... _________________ Get down and dirty... |
