I have just busted the frame on my rappy 700
Got all those repairs under way, repairs, gusseting, and paint
however while the engine is out of frame i am thinking it is too good an oppurtunity to pass up
Need to give TLC in the crankcase direction
Currently running stock everything
Probably 300 - 500hrs of run time on engine
When rebuilt will be running full single HMF, K&N, and PC5
Chasing reliability over power
Just tried desert racing, probably be doing more

What else would you do while you can

Currently thinking

complete GYTR clutch pack
maybe cam

I'm no racer, but I'd put the best suspension set up I could afford into that as well, especially for a long distance desert enduro.

^^^DITTO^^^

if you havent already done it, put the money into suspension components,
long travel a arms and widened axle
aftermarket shocks (i run fox evols-infinetly adjustable)
steering stabilizer-precision, gpr, elka
flexx bars

also good is a higher seat-quadtech desert seat- your ass will thank you in desert racing laughing

I just finished a 500km desert race last weekend called the Indee 500 and aftermarket suspension components make a [b]big difference

It can cost a lot, but it allows you to fully use the power already in the bike competitively

Whoops at Indee?...they're not called whoops when you can hide a small car in them.

^^^LOL^^^ very true, they were especially bad this time round, suprised i didnt snap my axle on a few sections
still think its a shame you moved before Indee Fossil, damn shame, we'll have to fly you over to pit for us next year, make a holiday out of it

flashgordon68, you dont know a young fella on a raptor 700 from perth do you, he raced at indee, but on day 1 he damaged his swingarm/axle bearing and ended up swapping numbers to another raptor 700 in his team for day 2

Yeah
That was my bike he borrowed
He had gone all that way and only done 1/2 lap
Couldn't let him go home with out completing one lap
Pity about damage
But I have learnt this style of racing is all about prep, then some more prep, and when you think you are done, do some more

If rappy motor needs anything it's a power curve that doesn't die so soon.

Talk to Brett at Legends about a cam and head porting to get more at the top end.
