I have a small issue with my 2011 model renegade 800,
Once I have completed my idle warm up and start to ride the bike the steering becomes hard really stiff and the dash flashes a orrange light with a motor signal sign, Once this happens I then switch the motor off and wait till the dash has gone to a blank screen then i start the bike again and normaly the bike is right from there on, but some times the above issue returnes.
All fuses have been inspected on the bike front and rear.
All wire connection points inspected and cleaned.
Power testing with test light completed to wiring loom.

Please note:THe part of this that I'm lost on is the above electrical issue doesn't happen every time the bike is started.

If anyone could help me with the above it will be much appreciated.

Hmmm. Did BUDS tell you anything? Any fault codes?
Was the DPS as heavy as thought there was just no assistance at all, or just partial assistance?
It sounds like you have checked the right 'simple things first' anyway.
What happens if you don't go through a normal warm up, like you just get on, start, and then move off using the steering straight way?

Hello Bullet,

Thanks for your reply,

Just been testing the DPS issue and the dash dose come up saying Cheek DPS, I did try ridging the bike this morning without warming the engine and the steering went hard and the dash stated again Cheek DPS. I then switched the bike off waited for the screen to go blank restarted the bike and all was fine. The funny thing with the issue is it dosent happen all the time but due to how hard the steering get when the DPS fails it is a little unsafe (very hard to turn the wheels no DPS assistance at all.)

Anyway I think I might have to book it in with the dealer up here and see what can be found.

thanks again,
