 |
|
I booked my self a test ride on a OUTLAW 525 at ORAN PARKS MX track on Sunday. The thought of flogging someone elses bike for 15 minutes on a MX track was to good of an offer to refuse. I honestly didnt expect to much of the OUTLAW because of its weight disavantage and didnt know how the IRS system would work BUT ......F@#CK ME this thing absolutely suprised the S*it out of me. It handled much better than expected, i jumped the thing sideways off jumps and it didnt try to throw you off, it had heaps of grunt, with no problems of pulling 3rd gear wheels stands down the straight, jumped very predictable, suspension was very plush, Pete was riding the other one and he managed to bottom the thing out a few times, but we know the settings on that were softened up when they took it to the dunes for a test ride. Overall if you get a chance to jump on one of these, give it a go and i sure you will be surprised.
ANYWAY i bought a HONDA !!!
450 class thing, dont want to race against 525's |

someone did some damage to one of the bikes, literally tearing one of the rear a-arms off the frame! pretty weak design on the rear.
seemed to be half decent bikes though |

haha yeah atkins boys were teling me about that little accident..
but that was the one of two that had already had a full bike review and been ridden prity hard the part month or so..
must say tho i was there riding and fortunatly polaris gave a me a couple different runs on both bikes and the older one (one with nerfs) deff felt more sloppy through the corners and didnt take the jumps quite as well..
But as a overall i was super suprised as to how well both the bikes handled and jumped, was just so smooth and power delivery was shockingly grate concidering neither bikes had even had a chance to get jeted, the newer model there litterally just came out of the box and to the track. Also props to polaris for hooking up a awsum track for everybody to have a blat on..!

hey marc one of the pics i remember taking and it looked tike you almost lost footing landing one rear wheel down first.... did the independant rear help with the recovery much? or was it just the angle i was on that made it look awkward?

Hey man well done and thanks a bunch for catching those photoes ey..
umm i think it just the angle of the way the camera was that made it look like i landed on one wheel coz i dont remember landing off centre all day.. and if i did i certanly didnt feel it, that IRS is the best..!
Wouldnt happen to have any more photoes from the day would ya..?
Cheers

oi logan those guys/girls were profesional photographers from melbourne and when i talked to Atkins boys (on monday) they said that we prob wont see any of their footage for another month or so..
But the photographers did comment that they were happy with the footage that they got from that day..!
Oi logan are we still up for riding at ur place sat/sun..? |
