Little has happened re the Qld titles, but we at Team Ironpot have been asked if we could do something , SO we are putting it out there would Quad riders be interested if we were to hold this event on our Thunder x track. This , as many of you know is a natural terrain track, has hosted rounds of Thunder x since 2006. Plenty of photo`s have been put up over the years and would be prepared the same [ planted to oats ]
That being said, we are 55klms west of our major town , Kingaroy. This town has everything you could want. We can supply plenty of camping, hot showers, toilets and believe a darn good canteen.
Can understand we are out in the bush and inconvenient to most. The logistics of pulling this off is huge , but don`t say yes for the sake of saying yes, we need and you as quad riders need to "turn up"
MQ have been spoken to, they don`t have a problem with the track.

If this is not popular , that`s fine we are more than willing to help anyone else with any other ideas.

Cheers,
Hook.

Remember our Cross Country is still all go on the 29th 30th september with the supp regs next on our hit list.

Hook, you know that I will be there, as long as nothing else rears its ugly head at me haha.

And I don't think QLD riders are going to have any issues about it being on a Natural Terrain Track, as long as it is another race. When were you thinking about holding it?

I have been trying to Drum up Hervey Bay to allow us to use their track. But have never got an answer out of them. I could also try and Ask the Rum City Mx Club, as they have previously said we could hire the track for a practice day as long as we had all our own officials. If it was local (for me that is) I had a number of friends and family lined up to help. But I dont think any of these will ever get off the ground.

Full support from the QQRA !!!
What ever you need, just ask![supp. regs etc.]
Picking the right time to host it is probably the most critical thing.
Before the nationals would be ideal.

Keep us informed.

Thanks scotty

Hey Hook,

You know what would create a bit of interest would be UTV/side X side as a demo./exhibition class and of course quad soccer.
If the powers to be could only see it; it might be a extra draw card.

thanks scotty.

Apart from you guys on here and the same regulars, nothing is telling us we should hold the qld titles. I guess if you look at what has slowly happened in the last 12 months, Finke numbers are well down on last year, our Easter event was half of last year, Thunder x was well down last year and looking like it be lucky to get off the ground this year, the CQ rounds are struggling for quads, and both the titles in QLD were down. Not all of these events are competitive , they try to cater for everyone, and each event was really enjoyable, we went to all of them.

So at this stage we are concentrating on the Cross Country in september, Quads saturday, Bikes sunday and i intend to enter in both days.

It is a sad but true realization (the declining ATV numbers).

I know it has been contemplated before, but maybe we could try and boost numbers by making some form of series with remaining club day events at venues like reedy creek and Hervey bay to form some form of overall championship and incentive for more riders to attend these. If numbers are down at these events, everywhere will struggle for numbers.

The fact that numbers are down in 2 wheels and Quads across the whole state show that the GFC has made its way to Queensland. We can only hope that the few of us out there riding and trying to get stuff up and running (Thank You Hook and Sonia for a great weekend over Easter) need support.
We can only try and bring quads numbers back up to what we no that they should be!
It would be nice to get a series up and running this year but the number of riders are low and everyone lives great distances apart which makes getting together very hard.
We would like to see good number at Hooks event in October this year as it may end up being the only major event for quads in Queensland for 2012.
