 |
|
| I'm searching for a new MX boot as my TECH 8's got knocked off. I've noticed JOE BYRD wears a oneil shorty boot which makes me wonder WHY do we need to wear a full size MX boot when our feet dont go anywhere near touching the ground. ???? |

i agree
bit if you race the gcr's say your boots have to cover 3/4 of your lower leg _________________ say NO! to ball sports |

Thats a good reason!!!!
Didnt even think about the MA rulings, i guess that might be a subject that we could throw around to see if there is enough people to change that ruling for quads, as i guess MA just carried that rule over from 2 wheelers. |

your head should go nowhere near the ground
why wear helmets
we should all just be racing with those old flyboy goggles cause roost in the eyes is a sure thing.
.
maybe similar theory
if you come a gutser,,, a full boots got more chance of savin you from a broken leg
same main purpose as helmets are for
why do GCR's have full back protectors for quads and not the 2 wheelers
probably cause we got 60 kilo more bike to catapult into our backs
.
here's a question
how many broken necks would have the Leatt Brace prevented if it was mandatory in the last 30 years _________________ 007257 where are you???.... bring back the Bling |

They were the latest technology in motorcross boots called
"football socks"
At least you got a warm up run before the race |

Seen this arguement a few times about boot length on quads.
I tossed myself over the handle bars the other week & landed on my feet so hard that if I didn't have full boots on there would have been some splintered bones. looked impressive though. Never anyone around with a camera when you need it!
I also don't like burnt legs against the header. _________________ If it's not upside down, you're not trying hard enough!

Hi Dave
If your name was Michael (Yellow stripe) Roycroft you could fit 3/4 of your whole leg into the "Shorty Boots" LOL

I bought a pair of AXO Slammer ankle boots. I find these better to use on my quad, but I always wear MX Pants, MX sox, stockings and a pair of knee braces.
I found that my full length Fox boots were a little to restrictive for me, but wouldnt wear my slammers on my trail bike! |

I would have broken my leg in a stack i had last year if I wasn't wearing full sized boots. But I dont see why they cant leave it as a personal choice, if someone really wants to wear the smaller boots why cant they have the option??? _________________ Mic

Looked everywhere for the AXO's but couldn,t get them locally. I just bought a pr of Thor 50/50's today, real comfy & good value too.
Matter of fact I'm wearin em right now, breakin em in
Hopin to get out for a ride this week & put em to the test. |

I find that full length MX boots get hooked up on the plastics just under the seat. Happened on the Banshee, Predator and Outlaw. It is starting ( after ten years ) to give me the shits. Will take my quad with me next time I size up a pair of boots to fit the quad and me. Some short boots sound the go as long as the sole is plenty rigid. Will make sure they comply with MA rules though. _________________ When I'm racing I'm living..... everything else is just waiting. |
